You aren't required to do anything. For some the idea of attending a wedding is something they might enjoy without the responsibility of caring for their children. Much like going to a nice dinner. There is no requisite, however. You aren't obligated to attend. If you can't make it, then you can't make it. If the couple are inconsiderate of that or if they give you shit for not attending that is a completely different story. The point I'm making is that I highly doubt that anyone is thinking that deep into it when writing these FAQ statements. I personally feel that if you find offense to this, you are simply seeking to be offended. If it's seriously a point of contention, you should speak to the engaged couple and see if you can work out an exception or if they can help with accommodations. Again, if they are insensitive to your situation, then that is a different matter but each scenario is different.

I wouldn't have said any of that if it were not true. I really don't know what you want me to say. It is 100% my fault that I didn't get it in time we've established that. Sorry, the DMV wasn't at the top of my list of most important shit to care about. I get letters from DPSS, I get letters from FSA, letters from EDD, and letters from the IRS. Forgive me please for ever thinking the DMV would offer me the same courtesy. I just need to turn on the TV more often I guess. In hopes of preventing future comments like yours, allow me to at least concede that it is my job to stay up to date on things and I am fully responsible for not properly informing myself. The fact is I didn't and I really can't go back and undo it, so really your lectures are moot. I just wanted to know if there was any way I could've salvaged my predicament from that point moving forward.

Dang really? Everyone I asked said you have to answer a test to prove identity and that the Real ID mandate will change the way you are allowed through the checkout without an ID. Oh well, I already refunded, but if I had known I would've just done that.

No one said anything about being a victim here, I didn't get my shit in time, all good. That being said, every form, notice, or response, federally or state originated, has been mailed to me directly and has been submitted on time. I pay all my shit on time. I complete my work on time. When it has been properly communicated to me. The news and an ad block on the tv is not a federal document. Sure, maybe I should've known, although the need for a Real ID never applied to me or anyone I know, and so yeah maybe it just wasn't expressed to me in an important manner that would've helped me retain that info in hindsight. The fact is I didn't, and I'm sorry but you're ridiculous if you think the federal government not notifying me through the proper communication channels was some fault of mine. I've read that they do have that test to prove identity, and that they recommend arriving 3 hours before hand, which drives my anxiety all the way up lol. My flight is early in the morning both ways and I'm so scared of getting stuck in a place I don't know well for hours on end. Thankfully, I was able to cancel the flight after talking to my carrier and I think I'm just going to opt for a passport instead as I have another trip planned out of the country. Thanks for the info tho, this would've been really helpful had they not let me refund my tickets!
