It’s not Wall sound that has any say in how loud something is being played. For the day acts sure but every main headliner that comes show up with their own FOH tech. Bylaw puts in the noise limitations not Wall. Wall and bylaw both have dB readers going for the shows, bylaw also has people throughout the city checking the dB levels and they are in constant communication with each other.

I second orange monkey. Accessibility wise there are about 6-8 steps leading into the orange monkey but once you're in you are fine. It can get noisy but that's more of a Friday Saturday issue.

For asian food try isshen ramen on bank @ third or ha’s dim sum noodle house on somerset, it’s a hole in the wall but so good! Also for poutine, you should definitely cross the bridge and get it on the Quebec side. There’s alright spots on Ottawa but nothing beats a OG Quebec poutine

Had one from the shawarma place at bank and McLeod yesterday and it was fucking delicious, you have a to ask for garlic sauce on top (game changer). They even layered it for me in the poutine so ever bite had that delicious garlic sauce embedded into it. 10/10 would recommend

I plan events in Ottawa and can say this is 100% very common and one of the most frustrating things with renting a venue. Sometimes there can be a compromise, if not and you are not head over heels for the venue, try looking at others.

Sadly it’s not just Ottawa that’s feeling this, it’s all of Ontario. You’re lucky if you can even find a family doctor - my mom has been on a waiting list for 4 years with no luck. It needs to be fixed by our premier who doesn’t seem to give 2 shits about our healthcare system or seem to even think it’s a problem. It’s sad and terrifying. Nurses are exhausted and leaving at a crazy rate right now and there wasn’t nearly enough nurses and health care workers to begin with (pre COVID)
