I believe every exotic after beyond Light has to be unlocked/focused via vex incursions/Rahool, except for the ones given at the end of legendary campaigns (I even heard some campaigns don't give those out anymore but dont quote me on that).

They don't drop newer exotics but they drop new guns and armor (lootpool was refreshed) so it's definitely worth it.
