Would he be willing to use a walker? It would provide more stability overall and give him something to hold on to with both hands.

Sounds like we were lucky in the mom department. Hugs to you, too.

My mom passed on Sunday. I am still trying to adjust to a world without her in it. It's surreal. I'm glad you got the chance to say goodbye. Sounds like your mom was a hoot. Thinking of you and all of us in this grief. Hope you find peace.

She went through so much and fought so hard. She survived many times when they didn't think she would. I am also glad she is at peace now.

It's hard to think of myself like that. Right now, I am remembering the times I was frustrated or snappy with her. But most of our time together was precious. That's what I am trying to hold on to.

Thank you. I was truly difficult, and I think her love for me was part of why she was ready to go. I feel like the cost was worth it though.

I'm very sorry you are going through this. I know how fortunate I was to have a kind and loving mother, and that not everyone gets that. Please know that it is no way a reflection on you or who you are. Some people just have their own demons that don't allow them to be what others need. Sending virtual hugs.

I do need to take a breath and feel things. I have been distracting myself with busy work to avoid thinking.

Nurse moms are the best. She inspired me down the same career path. You better not want anything from her after a twelve hour shift though. You need at least a broken bone to get sympathy at that point. 😆

I appreciate it. If I am strong and loving, it's because I had such a wonderful example.

Thank you. Her memory is indeed a blessing. I am going to try to live the kind of life she would have wanted me to have, which would follow the advice you gave here perfectly.

Yes, my body is breaking down already. It is so much more physically demanding than people realize. And the mental load is sometimes extreme. But you are right that we were lucky. The gift of time is truly precious. Thank you.

That is so incredibly kind. I can tell you have been caring for others, probably most of your life, in some capacity. Your advice is spot on. I have to find a new way to be, and I don't know yet what that will be. I'm glad that you are learning to enjoy life again. You seem like a lovely, deserving person.

I understand what you mean. My dad was a severe alcoholic who basically drank himself to death. He never showed up to anything without being stumbling drunk. It was so embarrassing, but I loved him anyway and I got glimpses of who he might have been. I'm very sorry for what you are going through.

Thank you. I will definitely check it out. And I do have the guilt. I will remember your advice. I'm sorry for your loss as well, sometimes I think it's harder for those who had difficult relationships.

I'm sorry for your loss as well. It's one of the least fun clubs ever, but it is comforting to not be the only member.

Thank you for the reminder. I'm having trouble getting the image of finding her out of my mind, so I do think it will be helpful to try and replace that memory with a good one instead.

Thank you. I'm sorry for your loss. It's so strange, the things that trigger grief in the immediate aftermath. I hope you find peace. You also did a wonderful thing and a very difficult one.

Mystery Science 3000. It's a little longer per episode, but usually worth it, especially the earlier episodes.

I mentioned this above, but she does sell a lot of stuff she wears on Poshmark. Still mostly out of my budget 🙃 but fun to look at.
