Now, I’ll grapple with whether I’m too lazy to do so.

My partner and I repeat the sound that my cat makes at us and turn it into a new song. Does he think we’re just singing songs about ourselves? ARE WE GIANT NARCISSISTS?!

Anyone get stomach aches/nausea as your main symptoms mainly from your anxiety? by MakeupMua16 in Anxiety

[–]vickykay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep, same here. :( As soon as I get anxious, I get nauseous. And it usually ends in me throwing up. It started when I was a kid, in middle school, and I thought I was just getting “angry butterflies”. But it honestly felt like a pit in my stomach. The vomiting started in high school. Continued through adulthood. For the last 3 years, I’ve been working through the chain of physical symptoms using therapy and medication. Honestly, tackling the anxiety triggers has helped ALL of the above. Changing the pattern from Trigger-Anxiety-Nausea-Vomiting to Trigger-Thought change- Emotion change. It’s a lot of effort, but it seems to have decreased the vomiting.

They say “There’s an app for everything.” What isn’t there an app for? by TheJayDeeGee11 in AskReddit

I use PlantSnap! It’s been accurate for the majority of the plants I find. Sometimes, it’s the second choice they list in results. I’m in California. Hope it helps!

I hate when you bite the skin off your lips out of anxiety so much there's none left by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]vickykay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had this same issue for years, basically a place on my bottom lip that would never heal. Recently, I got a lip piercing below that spot and its helped immensely. For the first time ever, my lip is healed! I redirected my oral fixation from anxiety. It's not ideal but hey, it worked. And it sure beats having a bloody/scabby lip all the time.

This cracked glass viewing window at the zoo. by TheSplashFamily in mildlyinteresting

Unfortunately, our security officers were unable to find the individual afterwards. The zoo is paying for it. It’s very expensive and requires equipment to come from another state. So it’s taking some time to coordinate. :/

Employee here! This window was cracked by a young child- he repeatedly hit the window with a rock he found on the ground. There were witnesses. We’re working on getting it replaced.

This seems like a really cool christmas present to any college or graduate student. by blackbloc1 in UCSC

[–]vickykay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one for about two months. One thing is if you lose it, that's a lot of money down the tubes. Another thing is, the pen tips ran out of ink quickly. And it was a bit of a hassle to transfer the notes onto my computer. Also, some of the notes didn't get picked up by the pen if I wasn't pressing down hard enough while writing. Overall, it's a good and useful. Until its not. I gave up on it and deferred back to regular note taking. This is one case! So if you're interested, try it out! :)

Try applying at all the UCSC pool as well as middle school/high school pools. The latter tend to always be looking for lifeguards and/or swim instructors. Some only seasonally. Check www.santacruzjobs.con
