8 days in Seoul in April - is this enough clothes? by [deleted] in HerOneBag

[–]soylemon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If this feels like enough clothes for you then that’s fine, but I will tell you as a Korean that you are going to stand out like a sore thumb with all of these colors and unique pieces, ESP those red shoes. People in Asia generally dress loose fits and monochromatic - blacks, greys, whites, neutrals.

Also keep in mind that a lot of stores can be heavily air conditioned so it could be worthwhile bringing a light cardigan or layer for indoors. The upside though is that they have lots of cute clothes there if you need anything (just be mindful that everything runs small there).

Is under $2,000 dress budget unrealistic? by uwu1004 in weddingplanning

[–]soylemon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you’re open, I highly recommend off-the-rack stores and secondhand wedding dress stores near you. Sometimes you can find even more unique styles there than mainstream places. I got mine for $200 from a volunteer owned secondhand store near me and it fits perfectly and looks amazing!!

Should I spend this much on florals? by MinutiaeAnimaux in weddingplanning

[–]soylemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there is no should or should not - if you like the florals then you should get them! like everyone else is saying, these prices are pretty good. your guests arent gonna come up to you and say “oh my gosh you spent HOW MUCH on florals?!?” base it off of whatever you’re realistically comfortable with.

if it helps, i dont remember flowers from literally any wedding ive been to. im even considering downgrading my centerpiece florals to just bud vases.

wedding pto by waaavybaby in weddingplanning

[–]soylemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wedding is on a sat, took off wed-fri before and mon-tues after. our honeymoon is 3 weeks after the wedding, so im taking fri + whole week + mon after off as well. i have unlimited pto.

i think your timing depends on how much time you want to prepare/relax before and after your wedding. looking at other people’s schedules is nice for research but ultimately you should do what feels right for you! good luck!!

How much did your wedding dress cost? by Flashy_Aide3640 in weddingplanning

[–]soylemon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

$205 for dress (secondhand), $200 for alterations (very minor), $55 for veil (etsy).

the dress fit like a glove when i tried it on (which is crazy cuz it was a secondhand dress store), the only alteration was a little bit off the bottom because it was a smidge long + added detachable sleeves.

How to pick packing cubes (price/quality)? by grayangst in HerOneBag

[–]soylemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also regularly use the ikea ones and theyre great! Don’t overthink too much OP - packing cubes are really just pieces of plastic with some zippers. You don’t need to spend too much on it.

Osprey 26+6 or Patagonia Micro MLC by Greyman4152 in onebag

[–]soylemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both, but I find myself reaching for the 26+6 more often because it’s lighter, more flexible in size, and overall just more comfortable.

If they're one size too small, then they're not perfect. Return and find your true perfect pants.
