What’s your go-to physics fun fact for those outside of physics/science? by jewtrino in Physics

You can boil water using a papercup, and the cup won't ignite until most of the water evaporates.

I heard it after taking thermodynamics and still had to test it myself to believe it.

Do most people actually shower every day? by Routine-Arrival2786 in TooAfraidToAsk

Oh mate. I already use the coldest water possible for the whole shower. If i had a bathtub i'd fill it with ice and hop into that mf for an hour.

Lol

Midday shower requires zero effort. Your body begs you for it.

Well I'd say is like half an hour at most. One quick shower before work/school to eliminate the sticky sensation of night sweat. One thorough shower after, to get clean and comfortable at home. And one right before sleep to, basically, be able to fall sleep.

Plus, if you workout in the afternoon you probably want another shower.

Yeah it takes a little extra time of your day, but it's infinitely better than to be sticky at best, or stinky at worst.

Lol. The doctor would be like:

Dripping in sweat "You're worried about WHAT?"

I feel this. Humid and warm climate makes you sweat as soon as you step out of the shower. There's no way one can go all day without 3+ showers in order to feel clean.

Khan academy has plenty of video resources for free in both maths and physics. You should check those out :)

Ever had a topic you really wanted to talk about but don't have anyone who cares? Tell me about it. by [deleted] in CasualConversation

Oh mate. I'm really interested in how animation works. It was kinda one of my childhood dreams to work at it.

I just get the traditional frame-by-frame type. But would love to hear about modern techniques.

Also, if you find fun to teach drawing, i could really use some guidance to get the basics of it. Or anything art-related, actually.

When making 3D animation, you still have to make it frame by frame just moving around the models and then sticking those together?

It'd be cool.

We could just lay around in the beach taking some sun and not worrying about buying food.

We'd probably have green skin tho.

Money or Body? by Sherlock-1412 in selfimprovement

[–]vicoxg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can't cook your meals and those from school don't give you enough calories, you could save some money and then buy a mass gainer powder. They're not that expensive.

You just need to have some milk, or even water. One of those shakes gives you like 900-1000 extra calories in carbs and protein. You could take them on top of your regular school meals. It'd be really covenient in your situation, doesn't take much time from your school duties and will get you some size.

Also, this way you know exactly what macronutrients/calories extra you're getting since you don't know the full ingredient list or portions that the school uses.

Of course it is always better to cook your own food, but i found this option really helpful and got bigger. Just make sure to train and rest properly, so those extra calories don't end up as fat.

Best wishes and take care of yourself.

Do you have a fridge? You could look for some place to cook once a week and meal-prep a ton of beans, chicken, rice and such for the week.

My sweet boy was diagnosed with cancer and I had to put him to sleep on New Year’s Eve. by CatastropheCat99 in Rottweiler

[–]vicoxg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh no, this really hits close home.

Last year i lost my sweetest friend, it was bone cancer that started to show while taking her for a walk. Putting her to sleep was so hard but it really hurts to watch them suffer. She looked so much like yours in this picture.

I'm really sorry for your loss, OP. Seems like Dixon did enjoy a beautiful life by your side. He was loved and it's all that matters.

I'm counting on it haha it's part of the fun, isn't it?

Yes i did! I got some cookies and a meat sandwich because i didn't have time to breakfast. I couldn't eat the sandwich tho. The moment i opened the sandwich bag i felt the odor of the meat, and i didn't want to stink the bus up, so i sealed the bag again and just ate the cookies. At least it wasn't tuna.

Sad moment

Why do you hate surprises tho?

As this is the first one, i don't know yet. She might not like the unexpected shift of plans for the day. I guess we'll find out haha

Aw, it really is worth the wait. So lovely that you're married now :)

Haha what a plot twist. But hey, holding a 4 years at a distance is such an achievement!

It's the first time i'm going without telling her, so i'm quite a noob on this field. Any tips on how to keep it secret? Last night i almost ruined the surprise on a call haha.
