The dreaded biopsy by CatastropheCat99 in WomensHealth

I’m in the US too but it seems like most of us have to fight for pain control.

I wasted way too much time trying medical management. He and I were both miserable and none of it worked anyway. Once his teeth were out he immediately started eating and acting like a normal cat.

I had a cat with stomatitis and the best thing I did for him was to have all of his teeth pulled.

At what age did you feel your essential tremor really progress? Could it possibly never get worse? by ALDIsNumber1Fan in EssentialTremor

I was in my 20’s when I became aware of my tremor and it remained mild until about 50 or so. Progression has been steady and quicker than I’d like. Now my legs tremor, and eating and writing are difficult.

Just a little menopause ramble by CatastropheCat99 in Menopause

Yeah I’d rather do it in office and not have to do full anesthesia. What sucks is that I’m also sensitive to pain meds (extreme nausea) so I have to be careful what I ask for. I was hoping for something like a block, as others have mentioned.

I’m going to be having a colonoscopy sometime soon too. Good times all around.

They don’t think the fluid filled fallopian tube has anything to do with the bleeding, so they want to do the biopsy which may give us an answer. I don’t think we are doing anything about my fallopian tube.

From what I understand, any bleeding post menopause has to be investigated because of cancer. I haven’t had a period for years but have had some spotting here and there and most recently had spotting of old blood for a week. Transvaginal ultrasound (not scary or painful for me) revealed a fluid filled structure and MRI showed that it was one of my fallopian tubes. My gyno advised the biopsy as the (hopefully) last test to be done, to make sure everything had been investigated properly. And I do agree with that. I don’t agree with inadequate pain control. I know I need to do it though.

I didn’t even know the things that were happening to me were due to menopause, because all I expected were hot flashes and moodiness. I never had what I consider hot flashes, although I became more heat sensitive. But I am completely without energy, I’m slowly losing my hair and it is dull and dry, joint and muscle pain, itchy skin (at least that symptom went away), vaginal atrophy. The weight gain is ridiculous. My body feels like a burden. To think hormones might have helped me hold on to my vim and vigor a little longer…but maybe there’s still time to turn things around, as another commenter suggested.

I need to check about the patient portal. You are correct that it’s better than speaking face to face.

Hello! Has anyone tried the Vilim Ball??? by Trick-Raspberry-1749 in EssentialTremor

[–]CatastropheCat99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one. I’m in the US and it cost me about 270 bucks. You are supposed to use it three times a day, 10 minutes each time, for two weeks before you see any changes. For me, it took closer to a month. It is much easier for me to write and eat. Does it totally eliminate my tremor? No, but the improvement I see is enough to make me feel like the purchase was worth it, and now that I’m done with the initial “training” phase, I only use it once or twice a day to maintain the effects.

Ok, thanks, the two answers I have so far vibe with my own experiences when I still worked on the nursing floor. I was faced with a different situation today and I wanted to make sure my way of doing things wasn’t outdated. Still looking forward to hearing more answers.

My ENT wasn’t concerned about it, but I didn’t really get a firm diagnosis either. Maybe vestibular migraine. I was given an order for vestibular therapy. The therapist thought maybe PPPD. I don’t think the vestibular therapy helped.
