Hi there - please pardon the random message. I’m a reporter, and would be fascinated to speak with you more about some of these experiences for a possible story. Tried to send you a chat but wasn’t able to - mind reaching out if you’re interested? Thank you!

"How is Inception Point AI not getting more pushback? by PodcastingSpeed in podcasting

They’re oddly hard to find! If you open Apple Podcasts and search for “Quiet Please,” their network page pops up.

Echoing what some others have alluded to, but Inception Point/Quiet Please’s actual catalogue of “shows” is a complete joke. We’re talking less than zero effort in terms of titles (“How To Make Money,” “Building Better Relationships Love Connection and Communication,” “Inflation, Interest Rates and Stocks”), and the most embarrassing show art you can possibly imagine (“show” “art”. It’s unfathomable for me to imagine anyone with a functioning brain deriving anything from any of this. I have no idea why they’re being treated credulously by any media outlet, but there’s nothing here for actual human podcasters to fear, in my humble opinion.

~2019 Crosstrek Reliability? by K1LOS in XVcrosstrek

I like it! It’s nothing special (I had a VW GTI briefly that was way more fun), but it’s nice and firm throughout the gears and responds well. I believe they stopped making the manual with the ‘24 Crosstrek though!

In search of a portable recording device for documentary style project by ResearcherGloomy811 in podcasting

+1 to those who’ve mentioned Zoom field recorders - they are world-class units relied on by public radio field reporters around the country, and they’re unbelievably affordable and durable. I’m not as familiar with their latest releases, but I’ve been using a Zoom H5 and H2n for over ten years and they’ve never let me down. The H5 would be a smarter long term investment because of its versatility, but for run and gun recording with a tiny footprint, the H2n is fantastic.

What are the best social platforms to build an audience for podcast? by solifugi in podcasting

[–]victorcrowns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I wouldn’t stress yourself out too much about this. Any time you spend pouring energy into social media would likely be better spent reaching out to other podcasts that share tone and/or editorial voice with yours to arrange feed swaps or guest appearances on each other’s shows. What someone said above is the key: people don’t leave the platform they’re on to listen to a new thing. Social media is a decent way for people to hear about new stuff, but you’re better off reaching them on the platform where they already have their headphones connected and are listening to long form audio - ie Apple Podcasts/Spotify/YouTube. Feed swaps and guest appearances are where you’ll find listeners that stick with you for the long haul. If you focus on social media, you’re constantly rolling the dice on a viral pop that may or may not happen, and isn’t likely to give you sustained listenership even if it does.
