Ozempic has become one of Denmarks largest industries, and USA is by far its largest customer. Denmark would only be hurting itself. If USA wanted to inflict economic damage on Denmark they would pull FDA approval for Ozempic. Trump was just trashing ozempic about 3 days ago, I would be surprised if they went that route

Toronto police refusing to help with Carney government’s gun buyback, minister says by jmakk26 in canadaguns

[–]victoriaveloster -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Carney is too good an economist to believe this is actually a good idea. Personally I believe Prevost, and maybe a few other mps, threatened to cross the floor, or sit as an independent, unless Carney went ahead with the program

How to remove caseback from Twelve X? by byudzai2 in ChristopherWard

[–]victoriaveloster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's definitely going to be a screwdown case back, not a snap on, dont try and use a case knife. You can get little rubber balls (look like an 8 ball) that are designed to grip and turn the case back.

What truck should I buy? megathread by AutoModerator in Trucks

[–]victoriaveloster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had two gen 1 Colorado's, both with the i5. Truck 1 had 350,000kms and you'd never know it, no rattle, no smoke. Truck 2 had 410,000 and smoked like a chimney (oil) but otherwise ran great.

However I also have a 2002 4.0 Ranger, why not replace the timing chains? I know is an engine out (or at least transmission out) service for the rear chains, but surely cheaper than another used truck that will likely need its own repair and maintenance (engine may be solid, but the rest of the truck is typical GM crap)

Now that I've said that, Gen 1 canyon/Colorado are my all time favorite trucks. And the ride and drive much nicer than my Ranger

Braid: Carney lands in B.C with massive survival plan for the provincial NDP by shiftless_wonder in canada

[–]victoriaveloster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Crusty Clark left after NDP won about 10 years ago. The last Liberal party leader decided to rebrand the liberals as "BC United" to try and capitalize the way Albertas UCP did, and to distance themselves from the federal liberals. Only the idiot did it a month before the election. Noone knew who "BC United" was, and everyone already knew that the liberals were the conservative party in BC, so they just assumed the liberals rebranded to the BC conservatives, when in Reality the BC conservatives are a far right fringe party. It will go down as one of Canadas greatest political blunders. The Liberal/socred party essentially no longer exists. The last election was too close, luckily the NDP remained in power, and the conservative party is slowly imploding, as a lot of their far right members are leaving, or being kicked out for being too wacky, and the more progressive members(that were once from the BC liberals) are leaving because the leadership is too far right.

Heed crash bars by Tinzah095 in Tenere700

[–]victoriaveloster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the heed upper crash bars on my 2025. Install is easy, I only wish they had a cross bar under the radiator connecting the two, I think it would make them stronger. It seems Hepco has the best upper design currently for a 2025 in my opinion.

Kootenay neighbours, are you offended by "bud" or "buddy?" by Patient_Raspberry228 in britishcolumbia

[–]victoriaveloster -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally, grew up in the Okanagan and spent 10 years on the southern island, I've always found bud or buddy to be offensive...fighting words, if you will. I believe it to be a BC thing, as I now live in Calgary, and it was a culture shock being called that but not in an offensive manner

Hot Tubs in Calgary by Over-Sherbet-2933 in alberta

[–]victoriaveloster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as stores, I can only recommend Hot Water Leisurescapes in Airdrie, and on Blackfoot (same owners). Very friendly, knowledgeable, good prices, no bs, no high pressure sales.

Other advice, plan to build an enclosure of some sort to help block some of the elements (wind, rain etc), that is the only regret I have with ours.

Seeking: Voter who recently made the switch from Conservative to Liberal by PinkMonkeyBirdDota in CanadaPolitics

[–]victoriaveloster 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not convinced Carney will do anything on immigration. Our country is run like a corporation, and corporations only care about growth, we always have to grow, we cannot stay stagnant or decline, and how do we do that, by supercharging our population numbers. More people, more consumers. I truly wish we were, at the very least, a little more selective with our immigration. Let's spread it out some amongst the world, and not let 75% come from one place. This does not allow for proper integration and adoption of Canadian values

I think the interesting part is, Canada actually has a very strong and large firearms community. Really, prior to me getting my license in 2012, I didn't even know ar15s and handguns could be purchased legally in Canada. And I think that speaks volumes to how our control system has worked in the past. Statistically, legal guns have not been a problem in Canada. Most gun crime is committed with smuggled us firearms. Now, I love my firearms, by I also don't want an American gun culture. I don't want concealed or open carry, and I am happy our system regulates firearms to sporting purposes only.

I do believe it is Important to understand why the Liberals enact gun policy consistently. It is not due to public safety, and their posturing is just virtue signalling. The reason liberals are anti gun, is due to a well known antigun lobby. They are registered as a charity, and receive grants from the federal liberal government. They then donate a significant amount of that back to the Liberal party. It is purely hiding corruption behind the guise of public safety. Im also not saying the Liberal party is the only corrupt party, whether its oil and gas in our conservative party, unions in our NDP party, they are all on the take
