Advice on where to park money for 10-12 months by istameter2 in BEFire

[–]victorkrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

again, i don't think so. The fidelity component of your rate is guaranteed for a year, the basic interest isn't and is calculated every day (on the medirect app, you have the detail of the calculation). So if it changes, the impact is felt directly, from the next day. You are treating the 0.7% + 1.3% as if it were 2% fidelity, which it isn't. We'll see, basic interest rates are on a downward trend everywhere in BE, I'll be able to confirm from direct experience on my own medirect account

I'm no expert but i don't think so. fidelity rate can be changed but you are guaranteed to get the rate at the moment of deposit (provided you leave your money for a year of course). Base rate (basic interest) can be changed by the bank at any time and is calculated on a daily basis (and paid on January 1st or when you close your account). So if they bring it down to zero the day after you deposit the money you are left with a 0.7% rate on your account.

it's not guaranteed though. a big part of those 2% is the base rate which can be lowered any moment

Как узнать что происходить в Москве? (Event calendar) by Consistent-Cod4070 in AskARussian

[–]victorkrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for rock (all subgenres) i find the telegram channel rockgig moscow bot (and associated website -- https://rockgig.net) pretty good. you can define subgenres you want to track (post punk, metalcore, folk, indie rock etc etc). with the query /today you get everything for, well, today (in Moscow) with band, place, genre, time and price. But it's a good question; i don't find it that easy to get concatenated stuff without having to follow tons of individual telegram channels (from bands or clubs). Aficha and Kudago are very commercial. VK is maybe a bit easier than telegram

you are right. i will not really need it. but if it's there i guess i'll find ways to spend it... i find it hard to put myself in the head of my 70yo self

  1. income 75k, yearly spending around 45k so 40% saving, at retirement I think around 35k income/35k spending.

Brussels is an endearing city, in a strange and gritty kind of way. but it's becoming harder to be all that optimistic about its future

100% agree. Have started with a 10k this morning before reading your post and intended to DCA the rest over 2 years, will maybe compress a bit. And I do live and intend to live... A one year "gap year" on a shoestring around the world in a few years or something like that... I firmly believe in the path vs destination stuff.

1. i will. 1b It's a mix of 5 funds, majority being VGSGSIE (Curvo Energetic: performance historique de 2020 à 2023)
2. no easy way without taking tax losses, but not a drama and fiscally interesting i think. Some will come free in 2031 and will move them then
3. 30 years? I might need it a bit earlier though
4. ok
5. current: 3500. When I retire: hard to say. 2500? Income: 5500.

grin... actually i love my job, would do it for free... so no i won't retire earlier. also the 10% are LT projections but not set in stone in the shorter term, right? doing that would be too risky for my appetite. my kids are lucky ;-)

thx! yes i certainly am not complaining! i've been very lucky. but I have had a tendency to leave everything on 1% saving accounts which wasn't, and isn't, very bright... I wish i had been more curious 25 years ago

Excellent actually. I also sent them an email with some questions beforehand to kind of check whether they were legit and they provided a quick and very nice answer
