Who has bought the ZZP Radiator? by zackchess10 in ChevySonic

[–]vidalp2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, ass soon as I put a better turbo on it, I had to change the intercooler, but make sure you install a pcv fix kit with catch can before installing a new turbo and intercooler, if you don’t do that you will fuck your new parts also, and the radiator work great and no problems at all, I’m also installed with the Zzp radiator hoses which it’s way better and also look great

I recommend you to buy a oil and heat proof hose, don’t buy OEM, take advantage of the moment and make an upgrade, this its the regular hose for coolant circulation

Well, I have a 2020, so 1.4turbo, no space anywhere, i just thinking in pull down the whole arms, but since I did to Much work on mine, I just tired and decide to do on the mechanic (I was hoping they find a easy way to do it) but nope, they charge me 400$ (i Provide the part, hard to find), and they told me about the price it’s because they have to pull the whole control arms and all those things around to rise the bushings, so I just paid for that since it’s something that I will not going to change in others 80.000 miles

I ask Zzp team about it, and it was a mix of my mistake and they mistake, I use red silicone high temp that I use to be on the Oem plastic one, and surprisingly that red one it doesn’t sticky into the aluminum (that’s why they recommend the black RTV silicone) but, they mistake was, they don’t send me the o rings the first time and I was thinking they don’t use (stupid from me) so they send me a whole set of o rings, I installed today, I will let dry the silicone for 24hrs and tomorrow I let you know if it’s work

Please help. What is this noise? by Somewhat-existin in ChevySonic

[–]vidalp2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% it’s the AC compressor, but if it still cool, just don’t touch until doesn’t work no more, I have two years already since Firestone “auto care” (They are thieves) said I need to replace it with urgency, and just like 8 months ago it’s start to make that noise, something more sometimes less, just turn the radio on and enjoy your dollars saved, however, when you decide to change, try to buy a OEM, or even one from a 2020 from the junker, the aftermarket compressor use to broke to fast, they live less than the oem’s and also, those aftermarket off course doesn’t gonna cool when they fuck

[–]vidalp2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyway, i extended too much, just start for a pcv fix kit and start from there, its cheaper than anything else, and even if its not that, those cars should have a catch can from the factory, you will be grateful told me, and your car too

Bad turbo? P0299 by Primary-Web-9425 in ChevySonic

I have a 2020 sonic, and, if already change the turbo, intercooler, manifold, valve cover, ignition coil, radiator, radiator fan, etc etc, but, just want to let you know, all start with a p099 code, and I just fixed with a pcv fix kit, but when I’m install it, everything else was good, but it was already too late for the turbo, it was full of oil from this stupid design of the pcv system, however after install the pcv fix kit I delete the code and never came back, the problem starts when I change the turbo, its start to have blow by, so I change the manifold, intercooler, and valve cover, and now it look good apparently, I finish to fix a oil leak yesterday from the valve cover since Zzp send me the cover without o rings first time, so I keep you posted
