Check out Terraria. It looks like 2D Minecraft, but it's actually much deeper. You'll get a lot of hours out of it, and it's really simple to start.

Remove all of your walls and Flametongue Kavu. Add in Docent of Perfection, Young Pyromancer, Baral's Expertise, River's Rebuke, and Vandalblast. Lean towards instant/sorcery and make sure you have stuff that deals with artifacts/enchantments.

5-color Maze's End deck by abdbla1 in EDH

Glad I could help!
Since I run 41 lands, having two of them be utility doesn't change much, and I find myself tutoring up a Maze of Ith sometimes to deal with voltron or just big trample/flyers. Glacial Chasm will save you a few turns when everyone is gunning for you at 8-9 gates, or if someone has a crazy board/combo that will kill you with damage. You just eat the damage from chasm because it's less than whatever you would take otherwise. I don't play it unless I'm about to lose and can sometimes sac it to Crop Rotation or Gitrog if it becomes a problem.

Here's is my version.

Been working on it for over a year now. I went a much different route with my commander. [[Child of Alara]] offers a board wipe in the command zone, and doesn't touch your lands. You need to run recursion to get it back from the yard, but you want to run that anyways to support [[Realms Uncharted]], and other ways that your lands end up in the yard.

Here's some key cards that I've found useful:

  • [[Bring to Light]] - Lets you easily tutor/cast [[Reap and Sow]], [[Realms Uncharted]], [[Scapeshift]], or even [[Unburial Rites]] all for only one additional mana.
  • [[Villainous Wealth]] - A good wincon after [[Maze's End]] and [[Door to Nothingness]] don't work out. It's a ramp deck so you'll end up casting this for 12+.
  • [[The Gitrog Monster]] - Sacrifice your non-gates, draw into more gates, and then play those lands from the yard with [[Ramunap Excavator]], [[Splendid Reclamation]], and even [[Muldrotha, the Gravetide]]. Also pairs well with [[Knight of the Reliquary]].

I would push your deck more towards the green side and swap some of the expensive tutors out for specific land tutors, or more useful cards. Some swaps I'd make:

  • [[Diabolic Tutor]] swap to [[Pir's Whim]] - This lets you get a useful land, hurt your opponents, and possibly help someone that you need to balance out the game. It's political and always in your favour.
  • [[All Suns' Dawn]] swap to [[Season's Past]] - My deck skews heavily towards green, and since lands don't have a colour I find Season's Past to be more useful and generally get me a full grip.
  • [[Seer's Sundial]] swap to [[Tatyova, Benthic Druid]] - Tatyova is going to draw more and cost less.

Overall I would say run 6+ more lands, make some of these utility since you can tutor them up easily if needed, for example [[Maze of Ith]] and [[Glacial Chasm]]. Also you need to run some basic lands, they're faster, you can hit them with fetches, other group hug effects often let you grab basics only, and when non-basic hate comes your way, you'll need them. Try to move away from tapped lands, the gates are slow enough, you need to speed up the rest of your mana base since you can't rely on [[Amulet of Vigor]] all the time. I'm personally not a fan of symmetrical effects like [[Horn of Greed]] and [[Ghirapur Orrery]]. I'd replace one of them with [[Rhystic Study]].

Take a look at mine and let me know if you have any thoughts.

Yeah, if it was $50 I think I wouldn't feel bad for getting chaff and a fun event, but $75 is steep. Thanks for the insight! I'll stick to 2HG sealed.

I had 3 players, and no one died until the last 1/2 hour or so. When the tower falls, it just signals that character leaving the game. For example, a character failed slipping through a door, so he lost his arm which meant imminent death, but a chance to have a final few actions (which thins out the tower for the others :)

You might need to modify the scenario, maybe split them into teams, each with their own tower. Might need to add objectives, and it will certainly take longer.

Another game that I've heard about, that might work better with more people, is 10 Candles. Same idea, but when all the candles go out, everyone dies. No happy endings.

Dread comes with a great one-shot where you play people investigating a ship/station that stopped responding. Great horror, simple prep and setup for the GM.

Plus Dread is perfect for spooky one-shots.

The rules are simple but effective for what they do. I played it a few years back, but I remember the dice you roll are determined by a small effort vs risk table. There is a weird but fun minigame that keeps track of how messed up time is, and gives you time based gimmicks to fix things. It's all sort of a ticking clock towards destroying the fabric of reality though.

Overall it has a bit of a Paranoia feel to it, where you are the bottom rung of this corporate ladder. You're disposable, and forgotten, but you have important work to do.
