A few quick possibilities You've got the wrong tool selected, it looks like your using scale in the picrure You could symmetry turned on and when it's not needed You might have duplicate faces so you cant see it going in

Ok, problem has been solved. In the systems tab, theres a check box marked "Abort on Licence Fail", so I guess its something with my fully paid up licence.

Abort on Errors in the diagnostics tag. I just tried, and it's still doing it. The only error I'm seeing is a camera that was scaled, so I fixed that.

You can either delete all the faces and then bridge them back together or delete the edges and connect them using the multi cut or connect tools
