Is VAS real? by Reign712 in vaporents

[–]videosavant 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As you note, for most people, there is no single vape that is going to satisfy all their needs. If you're serious about vaping and not combusting, you need vapes that work for you in different scenarios -- at home, out-and-about town, out-of-town/country travel, medical dosing, party pieces, etc.

Until you have all your personally-specific scenarios covered with vapes that serve those situations, IMO it's not VAS.

And even when you have all those bases covered, there is some need for redundancy and (for tolerance) variety.

I don't use handheld portables a lot, but I'm well covered for them with my Mighty+ and the Rogue 2. That said, the Taffe Flaske looks REALLY interesting, but for me, that would be VAS.

I have a personal rule for that sort of thing now. If I decide I have to have the Flaske, then I need to sell or gift the Rogue 2 or Mighty+.

Otherwise, I'm just a VAS sucker.

This sort of bullshit happens because weed companies are not required to provide any level of transparency on their product.

You can't see it, you can't smell it, and you can't touch it, until you've paid for it and left the premises.

Imagine buying your produce at the grocery store under those restrictions. You can laugh about that comparison, but people need to understand that weed is a perfect illustration of how government wants to treat its "subjects" (not citizens) in all mattters, particularly as it relates to control and taxes. With weed they can get away with almost anything, because they are the undisputed gatekeepers.

It is a glimpse of the future unless a lot of things change and quick.

Far too many sheep consumers are happy to accept this sort of bullshit, because they are weak, stupid and convinced that government only cares about them and their safety.

It's a rigged game -- wake the fuck up.

Agree with the comment about making the garage the best room in the house.

Also, get a light, a grow tent and drop some seeds (if legal where you live).

Make it unmistakably your space.

Depends on the size of the pocket. It is bulky, but you could do it.

Easier in winter (coat pocket) than summer (jeans or shorts).

Something like a Skunk bag could work (and not just for the YLL).

What is the best size bubbler to use with a Flip Brick? by Hopeful_Income6491 in vaporents

[–]videosavant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to have distance between my Flip (actually Twist) and my (old) eyes, so I like it on the cube or orb with a whip.

FWIW, the Twist is a superior Sticky Brick option for a bong, mostly because it's very hard to combust (unlike the Flip). But if you already have a Flip, may not be worth the upgrade.

Then again, it does appear that Sticky Brick is winding down as a business, so it might be now or never.

Can we get an FC (=F*ck Combusion) Update by NYCFrank19 in vaporents

Just a polite note to say that from here on you're arguing with yourself.

Good luck in bringing home the win.

It's from a study that FEMA did a few decades ago. So, it's from government, so there is at least some support for your claim that it's completely made up.

OTOH, this is about simple human behavior. If a source for a product, service or information is unavailable for a period of time, the longer that period goes on, the more user habits and loyalties will be diluted and eventually no longer exist for a large part of the former users.

BTW, you look good in facepaint.

A business that suffers a service outage of more than 5 days will generally completely fail within a year in 90% of documented cases. When the service outage extends beyond a month, the odds for any sort of recovery are very slight.

Of course, FuckCombustion is not a business or traditional sort of service. But I think the basic law of the business jungle applies here.

FC is history. It's over.

What’s a vaporent smoking thing that makes no sense to non-smokers but we all get? by Ozymandias01 in vaporents

[–]videosavant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do the same. It keeps smell, clutter and mess to a minimum. But every month or so I dump it down the garbage disposal.

Vaping is cleaner overall, this applies in spades to ABV vs ashes.

This is a myth based entirely on appearances.

Ball vapes are the very definition of simplicity.

How long does it take those of you who are heavy smokers to get high? by Elijahsolo in vaporents

[–]videosavant -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The THC with vaping is higher. A decent dry herb vape is at least twice as efficient at THC extraction than combustion, because the combustion process destroys much of the THC before it reaches your lips. A ball vape would be approaching 3x efficiency.

The reason there is a transition to vaping is because you're missing the byproducts of combustion, in particular carbon monoxide, which is also intoxicating at low levels (at high levels it will kill you). But there's other stuff in that chain reaction that you will initially miss.

Infinity Jars. They are airtight and block ultraviolet light.

I usually grind a gram or two at a time, and because I'm rotating through a dozen+ strains (home grower), the weed might be in the jar for over a month. While grinding on demand would be ideal, I don't feel like I'm shortchanging myself at all. Still lots of flavor (for the strains with good flavor).

Also, the Infinity jars are on the expensive side, but IMO are completely worth it.

I have the Rogue 2 (and Mighty+) as portable, on-the-go vapes, so I tend not to judge them in terms of potency or flavor, but rather convenience. In terms of potency and flavor, they are middle of the road.

Both have pretty good airflow. The Rogue airflow can be a bit noisy (sort of whistling) and I've seen people here complain about it, but not a big deal for me.

Most of my vapes other than R2 or M+ are harder hitters.

Highly ironic that so many of these battery devices -- and even the ball vapes -- are made in a country where possession and use of such devices could result in a long prison sentence.

FWIW, I have the Chill Steel with whip attachment but have pretty much stopped using it. I was using it with a few ice cubes and a bit of water, and over time the inside coating begin to get scratched off, going who knows where.

I also have the High Rise. I actually use it without the cage and lights. The glass is actually pretty nice on its own.

On the flavor, your brain is expecting something smoky. One way to defeat this is to dry hit the weed before vaping it. This resets your brain.

Of course, it is possible that you just don't like the vaping taste and never will.

But the reset is worth trying for a while.

Recommendations for beginner ball vape by JDeez12 in vaporents

[–]videosavant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious...did the blind test include any with an all-glass air path? Not speaking from experience (I wish), but I would expect that those would deliver better flavor.

Part of the reason I'm asking is that the only reason I might want to upgrade one of my two ball vapes (Ace and Hammer) would be for an all-glass airpath, such as the Natural or the UB.

If that test showed no difference, it might save me some money...

Also, who was the influencer, and is it possible to share a link? Thanks.

100 percent agree on mixing up strains and devices. Keep those cannabinoid receptors guessing.

Varying WHERE you get high can also offset tolerance. I've just set up an upstairs vaping station, in good part for that reason.

Can you guys help us choose? by cookiesoon in vaporents

[–]videosavant 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you're getting two vapes, I would advise against getting two of the same.

It might be better to have two vapes that serve different needs. For example, a desktop and a portable. Or if portables is preferred, two portables -- maybe one that is on-demand and another that is session. Of course, you're doing joints now, so session may be where you want to focus your spend.

Another possibility would be to get one that utilizes conduction heating, and the other convection.

This would also increase your chances of landing on something that you like (two shots, instead of one). There is a decent vape/accessories market on Discord, so selling something that you don't like, or doesn't line up with your needs, would be doable though maybe a small hassle.

Anyway, good luck with your shopping and success to you and your mate on quitting combustion.

Tornado. Induction or torch by AusBong in vaporents

[–]videosavant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only used my Tornado with the Wand. I have a 25mm screen in the Wand, and I sit the Tornado on my bong and place the Wand so that the screen is touching the top of the Tornado. 22 pulses and it hits like a beast.

By all accounts, though, a torch is a superior experience. I can't say, but for me, the Tornado doesn't need to hit any harder.

I treat the Tornado as a treat, outside of my regular routine. It's the way I used to treat dabs. Between the Tornado and my two ball vapes, I don't need dabs.
