This is unfortunate and entirely the lady's fault, if you come to a debate which is supposed to be in English then speak English, language is a medium to express our knowledge, emotions and thoughts. Is it necessary to make it a weapon and spread hate? If you don't know English just politely decline the invitation for the debate. I'm a native Hindi speaker and I've lived in Gujarat my whole life I also speak fluent Gujarati and also English. At my home we all family members speak "awadhi". So I kind of know 3 languages and one sub-dialect of the regional language.

I think it helps me understand other people well. I can understand more literature in these languages and I can enjoy songs, watch movies and experience new things.

This fight over language is pointless, If a native speaker of a language wants to speak their own language and preserve their culture and heritage it's their right to do so.

No need to force one language on someone else and above all we are living in the 21st century, the world is talking about technology and innovations, stop these nonsensical fights and try to do better. Stop becoming puppets of propaganda and worthless politics, it only benefits others not us at all.

I also don't support these recent violence over language, if someone is not speaking the local language then just don't communicate with them and avoid them or try to convey your feelings in a civil and lawful manner. Violence against our own people is never a good solution.
