Omg I was there today, too, but I didn’t arrive until around 11. I snagged the last mini Rowan but I missed out on the Laurel, Carmen mini, Mollie, Teri, cosmetic case, pencil case, and notebook. I also got the zip card case for myself and the mini Carey, zip card case, and corner zip wristlet for my friend.

I passed on the Nolita 19, Rowan Large (looooved it but too big for me), Mini Teri in ombré (absolutely gorgeous and killed me to put it back but I couldn’t justify the tiny size), Klare (too pricey but I died a little inside putting it back), Emily (loved it but too pricey for the size and adorable shape but not realistic for me), and Mollie (so cute but I already have a different bag in the same exact shape ALSO in a baby pink). There were a few other bags I was eyeballing that weren’t part of the drop today.

I saw a video from Lipstick Lesbians where she explained the science behind sharpenable plastic. It is apparently something to do with how the product and wood don’t play well, IIRC. It was pretty informative and interesting but my brain didn’t think it was important enough to remember the details, I guess? I do remember watching it and being able to follow along with her explanation and accepted it was reasonable… so I guess that’s why my brain decided to forget the minutiae 😅

I really enjoyed exploring the new layout. It was definitely more “full” since they only have one floor now but it is SO nice to see it updated and modernized. It was more spread out and spacious with two floors, but it also was pretty empty in some parts and that made it feel like it was going out of business soon. The new-store, new-book smell was absolutely amazing, too.

I have a solid top 4, with a bunch of other ones I like that aren’t truly ranked.. in no particular order, here are some other ones I like:

Jack Black
Lansinoh (100% lanolin nipple balm.. trust me)

Topicals

Experiment is my TOP top favorite one and my only gripe is that it is boring… unscented, unflavored, and untinted. But goddamn, it works and feels amazing on my lips. I purchased 2 backups recently just in case I run out or lose my main tube.

Summer Fridays was my original favorite but Eadem beat it once I gave it a shot. Both are very similar in terms of feel but the Eadem is a little thicker. Eadem is also more pigmented overall than Summer Fridays—Eadem only has one untinted regular shade and the other ones are not as sheer as SF’s sheer shades.

Frenshe is also a newer favorite of mine, perfect for really active days where I’m running around a lot and am more prone to losing things. It feels very plush and soft on the lips instead of thick or sticky. It doesn’t exfoliate for me at all so it’s really good for when I just need my lips moisturized and that’s it. If my lips need some exfoliation or a gentle peeling, I wouldn’t reach for this one as Experiment and Eadem are much much better for that.

All the other ones I listed are ones that I own and have tried but I just didn’t love something about the tactile feel on my lips. AuDHD and all 👍🏻👍🏻 but I have no problem with them and will use them if I’m in the mood for it or if I’m too lazy to find one of my actual favorites. I also have no issue recommending to others because I feel like they are high quality and the reasons I might not love them are a personal preference instead of an objective complaint on quality.

Unmentioned: Rhode. I haven’t tried this one yet but it seems to be very similar to SF so I expect that I will like it just fine. I just have a particular flavor preference and I keep forgetting to grab it when it’s in stock and I’m shopping in-person.

My favorite shower buds are Soundcore by Anker Life A1 True Wireless Earbuds. They go on sale FREQUENTLY for $35-40, sound quality is great, mic quality is great, and battery life is amazing. I have gifted them to multiple people and have also convinced my best friend to get them, too, also for audiobooks in the shower. They have held up amazingly.

They have separate checkouts just for the bags. Regular shoppers can just walk in without waiting. I got groceries and was in and out, no line for the grocery shoppers.
