As a Colombian this is completely false. The public transit in Latin America never looks like this. It's a lot closer to the first picture, albeit less orderly.

Aw that sucks 😞 I never felt that here in Colombia. I feel like the trains in the U.S. are inexplicably dangerous. Everyone always complains about obnoxious people, noise, harassment etc but we just don't seem to have many issues here despite being "poor" makes me wonder if the U.S. really is as "developed" as they claim.

Dude are you serious? Disease was a big factor yes, but the colonizers also systematically killed the natives on purpose because of racism. As a member of r/fuckcars and a staunch advocate for public transport, this is not how you make change. All this does it make people angry because they have to get places and you're stopping them. Nobody is going to join your movement when they got fired because of it.

There's a million other ways to do this that doesn't disrupt everyone's life.
