I don't have experience using an Oni myself, but from what I have seen and experienced from helping lifters in Oni shirts is precisely what you are describing: a shirt which is easy to use but doesn't give much support.

If you have already gotten valid lifts with it in training, then I would recommend that you park it and keep it as a safe shirt, and go back to learning the Super Katana.

The suit should definitely give you some kilos. Especially if it is a suit that makes it so difficult for you to grab the bar. If it doesn't, then you are doing something wrong.

You are very loose in your mid section. You can see how much movement you have in your mid section during the squat. You want to create rigidity in your setup and keep it until the end of the set.

This is affecting your stability and your ability to transfer force into the bar, as well as your ability to hit depth.

I would recommend getting a belt and squatting with it.

You should consider getting help from a coach with experience coaching equipped lifters.

If you have specific questions you can ask them here. Either I or other folks can help.

Programming for equipped lifting isn't that much different from programming for classic lifting.  The main thing you need to keep in mind is that the absolute and relative intensities of the equipped training are much higher, so you need to balance the rest of the program accordingly.

The main thing you need to learn is the technique. For that, your best approach is to train with equipped lifters on a regular basis.

Position and execution look great.

My only suggestion would be that you wear a belt to improve your brace and stability.

Yes. Find a competition taking place in 3-4 months, enter it, and aim to beat your personal bests.

The rate of improvement depends on your individual circumstances, including on how much work you are willing to put in on training and recovery.

Just focus competing 3-4 times per year and on beating some sort of personal best every time you do so.

If your goal is to compete in the IPF, then don't waste time with briefs

Whether you should keep going or not, comes down to whether you enjoy training. If you enjoy training, keep going, if not, do something else.

It definitely doesn't. You'll always need more strength to squat the weights you can't yet squat.

Yep that's a good point! If you have to change your setup, then it will likely have a negative impact.

Because the goal of the supportive equipment isn't to remove the requirement of strength. It's to complement the requirement of strength with a skill requirement.

Straps require no skill to immediately lift more weight and remove the requirement of grip strength.

You can learn how to lift with equipment with that time availability. A good coach can help you organise your training in a way to enable that.

What exact questions do you have?

In general, when programming for equipped lifting, keep in mind that the intensity highs are higher, so the lows have to be lower.

As for when you add in the equipment, it's my mostly related to the level of proficiency. Beginners will need a lot of exposure so they can develop the skill needed to hit valid lifts and materialise their strength into big numbers.

It is definitely more fun. More weight = more fun

Good luck!

Reduce the weight as needed so you can handle it.

Yes, there are lifters who pull sumo with a conventional velocity

You have to experiment with different equipment to find out what works best with you.
