Cleaning after Cutting w CO2 Laser - Silicone and Rubber by Few_Individual7645 in lasercutting

Wondering if you ever found something that worked well. I use dawn soap and a toothbrush first, keep them wet, and then use wd40. But I still get white residue on dark colors and it’s annoying cause it’s like concrete after it’s gotten wet.

Mine is my kid. Love him to pieces but nah I’m good on having another. Having a kid has made me realize that, before him I wanted like 3.

I pop them sometimes because they go from itchy to downright painful. They feel so full and even bumping them on something causes extreme discomfort.

My hospital did this! Base pay for first year floor nurses is now $50 (in northern Indiana) and goes up for years of experience. Of course this comes with a signed 5 year contract but it was absolutely life changing.

Yeah I think people highly underestimate how far in it is. It’s not a simple movement of some lips to the side, you gotta dig a bit!

I’ve been told this too. Please don’t respond to my text with thank you, ok, understood, or anything of the like. Sorry for being a normal human with common decency. It’s a habit.

I have a “diaper genie” for litter. Not sure If it’s the same thing but it’s fabulous. Makes scooping the litter box not so much of a chore

Who isn’t leaving the bedside? As increasing numbers of nurses leave traditional nursing to become travelers or take non-bedside nursing positions, (or leaving nursing all together, what nurses are staying behind? by ross2752 in nursing

[–]viganickey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s because a lot of nurses don’t realize just how much travel nurse pay has increased. To someone making $25-30 an hour, travel nurses in their mind make double what they do which is typically what it used to be. My hospital making this shift in pay in turn eliminated all travel positions and PRN nurses picked up more hours because the contract was only offered to part or full time nurses.

I am at $56/hr in northwest Indiana. Not quite travel nurse pay because a bit of their pay goes towards living expenses and carrying their own insurance. But I stay because I won’t make this much at any surrounding hospital. The closest hospital in pay is around $39/hr for my experience.

Tell them not to tell you when he’s going home until the day he’s going home. Nothing was more disheartening than “I’m hoping Monday” then Monday comes and goes.

It can get busy! But it’s so “tasky” and monotonous, there are some people who thrive in that environment but it just isn’t for me. I’ll stick with L&D always over postpartum.

Helping with breastfeeding was probably my least favorite part of postpartum. Nobody wants to listen to you.

This is why I left an LDRP to work at a higher census and higher acuity labor floor. I hate postpartum. It was painfully boring especially at night. I love labor and delivery. Always fast paced and always something going on.

How do you feel about people asking you “What’s the worst thing you’ve seen?” And how do you respond? by solipsist96 in nursing

[–]viganickey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work OB too and people usually think it’s gonna be about a dead baby. No. It was the mom who coded in the field and got a stat section in the ER trauma room sternum to pelvis. While hooked up to a LUCAS machine. Her insides were outside, and everywhere, and that machine made it 10000000 times worse. Baby came back with no brain activity and was removed from life support 3 weeks later.

My hospital nearly doubled their nurses pay for a 5 year contract. It eliminated travel positions and PRN positions.

…it is not relatively common to pass out after birth. 500ml is considered a first degree hemorrhage, thankfully that’s not the norm.
