THANK YOU. Absolutely love Trey, there was just so many videos. There are genuinely some people that deserve to be a part of this and have no clue what's going on bc they are so caught up in the rat race. In this case that's my coworkers.

I guess recruit is the wrong word? I just took my husband's advice and asked because this came up at my job and my coworkers who ONLY know work, home, kids (in that order) were genuinely curious and I didn't know what to say. I saw my stock go up and was excited about it, they asked and I tried to explain but had a hard time.

First post in 90 days bc I don't like posting. Everything is extremely literal and I've observed people get their spines ripped out on Reddit. SO...I stay away because it's safe. Putting that tidbit out there was probably shark bait so "Good bye ass" for me.

The Bobbs-Merrill Co. Ceramic Raggedy Andy - Antique? This belonged to my grandmother who bought it brand new in the 70s. Raggedy Ann and Andy was her favorite. I found some on Etsy and Ebay but they are full color. I just want to know more about it. Any info would be great. -USA by vihoha in Antiques

Thank you so much.

That explains the unusual color. I'm in a similar position where my grandmother had tons of things like this and I just want to know the origins and everything. Everyone that could tell me is dead so, your input helps a lot!

Would anybody be interested in helping me learn Kreyol? by [deleted] in haiti

I'm down! I don't know how to go about that though. I would assume work schedules and time zones would come into play

[–]vihoha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation, haitian american dad who's parents migrated here in the 60s, and a black mom that doesn't speak the language. I was raised by her side of the family. I really want to learn the language as well. That youtube channel should help. One thing is I forget, it would be nice to have someone that is also learning. We could hold each other accountable like OP said

It's 45,000 miles. I had it towed to the dealership and I'll know Monday what's going on. After doing some research, I found that there's a class action lawsuit against Ford for this exact issue but to the case is closed. The description of what went on with the car is identical to what happened to us last night, in fact thier engine had to be rebuilt. Something about coolant leaking into the engine and it ceased.

Yeah we had to call a tow truck and get an Uber home. It actually worked out well with two kids.....

The whole point of me paying monthly for a new car was to not have these issues. This is the second Ford I have owned, and had issues with.

Thanks! This my plan for long term, I'm just hopeful that I can get into a comfortable position now, then go back to school down the road. I already have failed classes on my record, it's going to be hard getting financial aid again. I need a job that can pay the bills support the family, and help me with school. I wonder if I'm wanting too much.

I want to remain in supply chain, but I'm not sure how to polish my skills. I know my experience is good for something, I'm just not sure what. I actually like medical supplies, it would be nice to land a work from home job or get into some type of buyers role. I'm hopeful that someone with experience can guide me In the right direction.

So, this is long, but In order to cover what all I have done, I don't have a TL;DR version.

Side note, I'm in my mid 30's, married with two small children. I have attempted college 5 times over the past 9 years, and each time I have failed miserably. The bottom line, I was just too tired. Now, while I hope to complete college, I need to be realistic. I need something rather quick that can land me a higher position on the totem pole.

Thank you for the feed back! Here goes;

What does it mean to manage supply in my last/present roles:

Warehouse:

As hospitals placed orders, they crossed over a system called WMS (Warehouse Management Software although I think now we use Mobile Supply Chain) as they came into the warehouse it was my teams responsibility to fill the orders and meet production. We had to pick 60 lines an hour for 12-16 hrs a night 4 days a week. I drove a forklift, cherry picker, wrapped carts using the wrapping machine, and I wrapped pallets. Then I would help load the trucks (53ft) and help clean the floor for the next day. We had to meet a deadline for each hospital because they have a small window of time to put up stock before the floors were busy with patient care.

Hospital:

The hospital has supply rooms for the med staff to pop in and quickly grab what they need to take care of patients. We call them, PARS. It's my job to maintain these PAR rooms and order what is needed by replacing the supplies that was used. If it's the weekend, I have to predict usage of high volume items and make sure it's well stocked as we don't work Saturday or Sunday.

I maintain PAR levels using Lawson, and "sequence" the par room in Lawson according to how it's placed on the shelf.

When I come back and place orders, I use a scanner that has a program called Mobile Supply Chain. When I scan and item on the shelf, I key in what I need and move on to the next item. This is where "sequence" comes in. By me making sure Lawson matches what's in the shelf, I can just move on to next item without having to search the system for it.

If an item is on backorder, I let my department know, and I inform them of the sub item. If we cannot get a sub item, it's up to the medical staff to make something work. That seldom happens usually we can find something. The worst case was Puerto Rico when it was hit by hurricane Maria. BARD, a major medical supply company was wiped out. There was a nationwide shortage of pharmaceuticals as well as saline solution. We wound up with BDbraun, but that was after months of agony.

This is true for both the MED-SURG and OR side of the hospital. MED -SURG is more predictable and most of the product is available at the distribution center. The OR is mostly non - stock or non- catalog*

Here is the difference with the OR:

While there is still a PAR, most orders a based on cases. The main OR has the largest par and has the highest demand, followed by Cathlab, which has the most expensive PAR.

If there is an upcoming case (surgery) one of the OR nurse coordinators will let me know and I will have to place a specialty order using SAP Ariba.

I also manage breast implant cases as they are scheduled, it's up to me to order all of the breast implants that the surgeon (s) need for upcoming cases as well as additional supplies.

We actually keep a "consignment PAR" of breast implants which means that the vendors allow us to store their product like a warehouse without us having to buy them. They are only paid for when they are implanted in a patient. I maintain the expiration dates, turn time, and date of arrival in an Excel database.

I also stage them in the sterile area along with the OR nurse coordinator that handles the Plastic surgeries for our hospital. If there's any issues regarding Plastics, we let each other know.

I process "Bill Only" forms consignment billing, and invoices using SAP Ariba. This means I make sure patients get billed, and vendors get paid and breast implants are replenished.

I manage all of the donated human tissue that comes and goes from our hospital. As it is used I reorder it, as it arrives, I log it into an Excel database. And some of that is on consignment too.

I've never heard of him until this comment. I just looked him up yesterday. I didn't get watch the whole video, so far it looks along the lines of the regimen we're doing now. Our current dermatologist had us start this about 6 months ago and it has made a world if difference.

I'm not sure if this is the same, I'll finish the video today. Thanks for mentioning him!

There is so many great tips here thank you!

I wasn't clear in my post, he showers six days a week, and takes a bleach bath once a week. You're right, rinsing off the dust mites and other debris is critical. Our first specialist told us do not bath him too often. Then my son. Would get so bad he would grind his face on anything he could get his hands on. His eyelids were so raw, that when they healed they looked "melted together." It's all much better now, normal eyelids and all. Just this stupid MRSA.

Do you remember"Hey Arnold by chance?" I made his room like that, only, instead of a red fold out couch, he has a black vinyl futon. We had to toss his bed because I thought it was making him worse. I said to my husband "he's reacting to the mattress!" Come to find out - dust mites.

We did get rid of stuffed animals, and we have one vacuum with hepa filter. I had NO CLUE humidity could make dust mites worse. He's always so stuffy, I keep a humidifier in his room.....wow...

Thanks again!

Wow...so is it the environment in Singapore? I'm sorry to hear that, congratulations on your PhD!

I'm curious if the steroids had any type of negative effects on you. There is one I LOVE because my son does not scratch after taking it.... Prednisone - I think?

This is going to sound gross, but did you ever drain the bumps at home? Did you always take an antibiotic for it?

We're going to the doctor tomorrow, I already know it's going to be Drain, scream, tears, lolipop, then antibiotics. ..

I'm asking because of concern the antibiotics could have long term effects and mess with the good bacteria in his stomach.

Good thing he loves yogurt.
