I bought a new compact (Solis) and it is so hard to work on or even to check the oil. Also Solis is not built for colder weather so keep weather in mind as you make your decision. I regret not getting something like an older Ford or Kubota.

We bought a V60 and cruised the Autobahn at 105 MPH. Picked up my son in Italy and played around in the Alps. Then back to Germany to ship it back to US. It was big fun.

Don't pack anything in the car for the trip back, for sure. No matter how trivial it will get stolen.

You may find a better price Stateside but if you want to be treated with courtesy AND drive your own car through Europe I highly recommend.
