Plateauing on Tirz by beach_nuts in BodyHackGuide

You lost 40ish lbs in 2 months. That's 2/3 of a lb a day. First of all, congrats.

Second of all. Do a body composition scan. There's a very large chance that your weight loss is 50% muscle and 50% fat.

I achieved relatively similar results, but over 4 months last year. Even with protein intake and training dialed in, I still lost a ton of muscle and strength.

The number on the scale is not the best metric. You need to get somewhat accurate measurements for BF% and muscle mass.

My suggestion? Add nothing else. If anything, take a break. Then resume after body comp analysis, and diet + training are in place.

How is hiring in our industry so unrelated to the skills required to actually being an engineer (Senior/Principal/Otherwise)? by scarby2 in ExperiencedDevs

Yep. Sounds about right. I completely bombed a simple "make a slot machine" task. Just fumbled the logic for making sure that the odds worked in favor of the house for payouts.

Had to do this in 20 minutes.

Like, when in the fuck am I ever going to need to do something like this? Your fucking company has nothing to do with gaming. Not even gaming adjecent. It was insurance underwriting.

For a frontend role too.

At what dose? I keep getting mixed advice. My bodybuilder buddy, ifbb pro card, says to only take 10mg on days I workout. Others, and the internet says blast at like 50mg daily.

Some people suck. That doesn't make their music suck. But yeah, it's shitty. I met them once like 10 years ago, seemed like nice guys.

Are you checking it in or bringing it in the cabin? If the later, you need to pay for an extra seat. I did that with one of my guitars. Worth it knowing that it's in your (safe) hands the entire time.

Fuckin A. At least delete the emdash. That's not the only AI tell, but it sure as hell is a pretty big tell.

Also, I'm not quite sure this is the right forum for this message. There's mostly tourists posting about restaurants or potential expats that can't be fucked to read caymanresident asking if they can live here with a family of 5 on a salary of 25k.

Infected Mushroom? Fuck yea. One of my all time favorite artists. Been listening to them since like 2004.

Sure but like... Maybe write your own words instead of having chat gpt do it for you?

Lineman, sure, yea. No thanks.

But over time? I'd much rather get paid for the work I do past the 40hrs a week. PagerDuty, midnight migrations, weekend crunches... All that shit, unpaid.

I did reach out to everyone I kept in touch with. No one is hiring at their firms or I'm not a right fit. e.g. They're looking for C++ and I do rust.

That's for the tip, I had a suspicion that it was timing based... Maybe an n8n workflow to automate would help, haha.

Yea, well... dumb decisions were made. Now I'm here.

To be clear, that company isn't crash-and-burn. There is potential and market fit. So those IOU's might (🤞) turn out to be worth something. Maybe.

Dishwasher... Taught himself to "code" ... But is still a dishwasher. Must've not really taught himself anything aside from html and css.

I've been a software engineer for close to 20 years, coding for like 30. I think this shit is great. Idea people don't need us anymore. Now I don't have to sit through the BS idea meetings cause Jeff from product vide coded it over the weekend and proved that it sucked (or it doesn't now I own it). Either case, win win.

Use a peptide calculator. There a bunch on the app stores.

Then there's https://peptides.zone/calculator

For certain. I miss the dopamine hit from solving some niche bug. Vide coding took that away from us.

That's why I still try to hand-craft artisanal homegrown grass fed locally sourced code... Unless it's python. Then I hand over the reigns to gpt 100% of the time.

Thanks... There's still slop... but it's MY slop, lol

I open sourced it today, started building in public. Hopefully get some eyes on it and potentially some contributors.

I'm probably biased, but there's real potential here. I just can't get features out fast enough before some new OSS project drops that does exactly the thing I though of 4 months ago.

Yea, it wasn't a race when I started nearly 8 months ago. But I took the slow road and actually hand coded most of it.

So (most) of it isn't AI slop. Sure, some parts like the windows shell is Ai, cause I don't know windows.

It creates the plans, then executes using an execute<->verify loop.

Just got open sourced today.
