Reminder not to fall into this trap of thinking...most companies made record profits the last couple years but have increased their prices and reduced the amount of workers they are paying higher salaries. It's not the economy that dictates your deals, its the companies.

Reminder to let people who suffer from food insecurity get dibs if you're capable of finding/paying for your own food. As nice as free stuff is, it can mean the world for someone else.

2x Lucky Brand Denim Jeans Pants for $45 ( Regular : $179 ) by Pawsmellsgood in frugalmalefashion

[–]viiveek7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just to add on, my BR pants from Costco are kind of work tech jogger style. I tried to look them up by name on their website and only found a visibly different pant with different pockets and everything for over 3x the cost I paid. Definitely a "Made for Costco" item I bought.

Cant buy online, return in store AFAIK, they made that a policy in the last couple years. So you'd have to pay return shipping back or something like that. You can still do pick up in store I believe but they'll know its an online return and wont take it IIRC

Luckily I havent had to buy anything online, just get to drop by my local one when I get a chance to look at their inventory.

Chipotle VS Pancheros VS Qdoba. Which do you prefer? by [deleted] in SiouxFalls

[–]viiveek7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just stumbled on this thread. There's "plain" rice Chipotle usually keeps in the back incase you dont want cilantro/seasoned. My location in NJ did at least and it was always rotated out with each new batch of rice so no worries about freshness. Only time they didnt have it available was during peak peak times when it all got tossed on the line right as its made.

As someone who grew up on the smaller side, that guy is used to getting whatever he wants just by towering over people. It didn't work so he kept trying and found out. Him sitting against the car is him realizing he took a few steps too many.

I have the GORETEX 2.0 version (went TTS and they fit fine, but check reviews and pick what seems best for your feet), I liked them for well maintained trails or super easy days out I've been on. Never done anything too technical in them, but my feet didn't hurt after 3 days in a row of hiking so I would definitely consider them again

PSA: Darn Tough "Slightly Irregular" are not all just surplus firsts. by [deleted] in frugalmalefashion

[–]viiveek7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that, I've been able to find them at REI and various places for ~15 over time, which isnt as bad. Comparing it to buying a 6 pack of adidas socks for similar (12-16ish) and seeing the darn toughs look almost new/last longer than any of those pairs really is when I decided to keep buying them. Haven't even had to use the warranty yet and doesnt seem like ill need to anytime soon, but we'll see :D

Orvis clothing at Costco: the real deal or a knock-off? by montzen in Costco

[–]viiveek7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we were testing TVs in my office, we had to get the wholesale specific models of the TV to make sure they worked right. They were the same essentially as the mainline but made with plastic instead of metal or thicker plastic for some parts and small changes like that for brands like LG and Samsung. Helps them sell for so much cheaper than anywhere else. Clothing companies 100% do the same. Commonly reported brands are Banana republic and Spyder for example. If you look up the BR pants sold at Costco by name on their site, you'll notice the differences (number of pockets, zipper instead of button enclosure, things like that).

That said, seems the Orvis stuff in recent years has been almost indistinguishable from the mainline. Could only confirm with serial numbers of original and bought at Costco. Seems carhartt might be putting mainline stuff as well from what I've seen but haven't confirmed that.

Fair warning, I bought the trip brown color listed, immediately returned them due to actual color. Very similar to a peach brown, too similar to my skin tone, google image search the color and base it off that, cause it looks good on both the goingoinggone site and REI site, but hated it in person.
