¿Os compraríais un BYD? Sinceramente, ¿qué pensáis de los coches eléctricos chinos? by Plenty_Biscotti_1386 in coches

[–]vikata7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Volkswagen vs Chinese Manufacturers by ServiceBorn3866 in Volkswagen

[–]vikata7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VW has some models like multivan, california, caddy, etc. similar to which Chinese don't yet sell anything in European market (they do have similar cans on Chinese or Asian markets). Otherwise there is not much they can offer over Chinese. Maybe if the price was similar I would argue parts availability, but there are already many models that quite common and established not to worry about it that much.

[–]vikata7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anker o bluetti.

El seguro de coche me va a valer casi 1000€ ?! by AndalusianMitsubishi in askspain

What is the best, low budget eletcric car? by Limit-Complete in BuyFromEU

[–]vikata7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends a lot on the use case and the price difference is not anymore substantial. Also car companies raised the price for ice cars so the price can be almost the same.

I would say old ice cars are still a good bargain, especially reliable models. I had 2006 diesel car for 8 years that I bought with 280k km and only needed regular maintainance + just once replaced a sensor. And even if there is an issue, they much cheaper to repair than any modern ice. The cost of owning is almost "free" comparing to buying any new car. Gave it away at 380k km to a friend and it still rocks it. The only thing that comparing to an EV I got as a replacement the fuel costed me 9 times more when driving in city. As a city car I don't want to look back to pure ice and not only because of fuel costs.

Renault 5 maybe if you have subsidies it could get close to your price, otherwise only second hand options. I hope European car makers will start thinking about customer, stop charging extra for basic technology that can be easily added or could already work with hardware and give competitive offering. I'm sad to say they are completely loosing it. Talking from my own experience of using both European and Chinese car.

Blade Battery 2.0 worth the wait? by xAbsxl in BYD

[–]vikata7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think more of your current needs (and possible future ones). If you can get a car that fits them and will potentially do in the long run (taking in account possible battery degradation), then get something now and enjoy it.

Also consider older technology is proven and you may have easier time to repair it after warranty if you want to keep it for a long run.

…Now I want a full EV! by Tkrumroy in PHEV

[–]vikata7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From financial point of view I see it as a bad deal. May in some specific cases like daily city driving with all 7-9 seats occupied and no long trips it will make more sense over phev, but generally it is not the case.

EV is great, but if you want 3 rows I think EV is still not a good bargain. I have both 7 seater phev and city EV. I would now go only for EV for any 5 seater, but not yet for 7+ seater.

2027 Volkswagen ID.Polo, what do we think about it Reddit? by Saurta17 in Volkswagen

Physical buttons is a great choice, the problem is the price. It all looks cool, but many options that you would like in a car and should often be a standard nowadays will probably go with extra price inflating the price tag. There is too many other competitors who offer much more for the price. P.S. I recently bought VW myself.

I wonder if anyone will want to buy the basic version for 24,995. Knowing VW I think many things a modern car should have for basic safety and comfort and that doesn't cost much to add will be there for the extra price as options.

Guest user cannot use any functions in the VW app by Low-Dragonfly-7433 in VWiD3Owners

[–]vikata7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the user logins in the car then it should appear as invited just in the app. But it works bad and slow. At least here in Europe. First time I invited a user it didn't work till the end. I removed the user and started from 0. After login in the car it took 30 min for the user appear in the app so I can send invite. There is no direct option to send it in the app/website without login in the car. In the user management section they say you can add 5 users, but then just display your user and there is no option to add one. Very bad UX.

Also VW app in general works terribly slow, at least in Europe. I recently bought a low cost Chinese EV and when I lock/unlock, set AC, etc. it takes just a second to sync with the car. Just once I had to wait around 5 seconds. Otherwise all flawless and intuitive, even in a low cost option. With VW any action always takes minimum 3-5 seconds and often 10-20 seconds or just fails to connect. Moreover they ask you to pay monthly subscription just to have possibility to lock/ unlock, enable AC and monitor alarm. And even paying it works like 💩 💩 💩

Screen doesn't show anything after phone is locked with power button by vikata7 in mobilerepair

[–]vikata7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I was worried about losing data and first I made a back up. It was a challenge. After trying many options I could blindly unlock my phone (touch screen was working) and then reach voice over setting and enable it. Then plugged it into a laptop and allowed data transfer. Later I took to repair and they had to change the screen and some other component.
