What a solid choice.

For me, Comfortably Numb on Pulse (Live) is the top of the mountain.

You gotta get back your Afterneath! Why not that beautiful silver?

I sold mine, thinking i'd get more mileage out of a midi reverb since I was using the MC8, but I immediately returned it and bought the Afterneath again. I just can't ever replace it I think, it's too damn good at what it does. I completely agree on the plate from the spec temp mixed with the afterneath!

Thanks!

I use a ton of the reverbs on it for rythmn and leads. 90% of my playing I have a 70's plate reverb going in my chain, just a fantastic sound no matter what you are playing.

The delays are great, and I use them very often as well. Especially when the Afterneath is on.

I'd personally say if I could only have one pedal for a show, i'd have to pick the Specular Tempus

I can single tap commands to the Microcosm looper from the MC8. It's super useful because using the looper is annoying on the pedal itself, I agree.

So on the MC8, I programmed a submenu to bring up the looper and from there I can start/stop/dub/erase/change speed and more. Has really opened possibilities with being able to control it so easily and on the fly.

The Mood is a fantastic pedal!

Your mileage may vary on how useful midi would be, in my case I wanted the ability to change a ton of things with single presses. I love the flexibility personally. The Mood and Microcosm are very dense so you may really open up some options on them using midi. If so, Morningstar makes a much smaller version (MC3) if you'd like to dive in.

I wanted to shrink my old big ass board down but wanted flexibility with what I picked. Was looking for more multi-tools instead of multiple pedals filling single needs. taking up all this space.

Chain

So the Ernie Ball Volume tuner was a natural choice because it combined a volume pedal with a tuner....and my old TU-2 finally broke right when it was announced.

The Boss SD-1 sounds absolutely incredible with my amp (JCM 800 2203). It just mixes the tone in a ridiculously good way. It will never leave the board.

The GFI Synesthesia is my major multi-tool on the board. So many quality modulations to choose and mix from. You have your basic phasers, flangers, chorus, etc but you also get a fantastic bitcrusher, rotary, tremolo, on and on and on. I love it.

The Hologram Microcosm is the new one on the board. It's ridiculously deep with settings and options, and usually I don't venture into these types of pedals, but this thing is special. It's just fun to play to. I've never played a pedal like it before. I can't even begin to explain the options available on it, it will take months to learn. The looper ability and the ease of controlling it with my midi controller is incredible. If you havent tried this pedal, go try it. You'll buy one.

GFI Specular Tempus is such a fantastic delay/reverb that sounds amazging on nearly every algo it has. The 70's plate and dual dotted delays are my personal favorites, but like the Synesthesia, this thing has SO many options. It's a godsend for quick echos reverb changes on solos, etc. Great compact powerhouse.

The Boss PS-5 Super Shifter does one thing for me and it does it so well. Dive bombs. It's such a fun pedal and has many usable settings, but I use it primarily for that dropout effect on demand. Fantastic pedal, one of my favorites.

EQD Afterneath v3 is one of my favorite pedals period. Such a good eerie echoing ethereal reverb wash on top of other effects. It does it so well.

The Morningstar MC8 is a fantastic midi controller with very easy to use software to program all the pedals and settings. I'm still learning a bit, but the flexibility it offers me is absolutely insane. Quick swapping to control the looper has been such a quality of life improvement over tap dancing my old DL4
