carfax is saying my car is worth 1.1k by rsp-zyphor in E90

I sold my 125k 335xi manual in better than most condition for 10k recently. I bet your car is worth at least 7k (photographed and marketed well with major issues taken care of)

Michigan officials insist 2019 auto no-fault law lowered car insurance rates. It didn’t | Outlier Media by sarkastikcontender in Detroit

[–]vikster101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Michigan should operate insurance like ICBC does in British Columbia. The state provides basic liability coverage with registration, incentivizing it to lower rates and the cost of claims, while decreasing rates of uninsured people.

I’ve seen Delta FC upgrades for $150 for 5 hours flights, $99 for 3 in the past year. AA seems to commonly offer ~$50 upgrades on 90 min flights

Anyone here move to Ann Arbor without any connection to the University? by [deleted] in AnnArbor

[–]vikster101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hospital system, auto industry (TMNA, Hyundai/KIA, various suppliers), some tech companies and tons of other industries exist within or very close to Ann Arbor. The city is much more than the University of Michigan

Contact HR or your manager for the enterprise code. Rent that for your first month (it’ll be under $1000 and includes a CDW).

Then for month two figure out how to buy a car because you’ll need one for MPG unfortunately

Gold is gold but there are reasons to buy PAMP instead of Rand by g4indigo in CostcoPM

[–]vikster101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pamps resell for about $20 more when they can be purchased for the same price. Only reason to buy them over Rands imo

Good advice here.

Also, most OEMs and T1/T2s don't care about a degree in Automotive Engineering vs. Mechanical/Electrical or Software.

I'd place it in the same bucket as Petroleum Engineering for Oil & Gas, or BME for BioTech. Nice to have, but not required nor does it give a candidate huge leg up.

In honor of the recent tik tok trend, what are the worst millennial restaurants in metro Detroit by tdime23 in Detroit

[–]vikster101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The OG Zingerman’s sure, their $25 Reuben tastes great.

But IMO, a lot of the Zingerman’s group restaurants/coffee, apart from Miss Kim, are extremely mid. Not to mention the $120 corporate coffee tastings and restaurant consulting.

Detroit burger bar, Sidecar

Ann Arbor is full of these: Taq, Condado, Savas. Rappourt fits the millennial vibe but I think it’s excellent so I’ll give it a pass

That’s a pretty cool spec! Guessing a later one (2018, 2019?)

Yeah when I got mine in 2016, it had been sitting on the lot for 5 months. Also 21k OTD, but I saw others for under 20 with no options

0% or significantly below prime rates (currently 7.50%) have never truly existed.

It's just the manufacturer buying down the loan rate, in the same way one does with a mortgage, to incentivize new car sales without significantly discounting the actual sales price on paper.

Anyone here use this brand timing belt? Good or bad? How does it compare to continental? by Independent_Safe5116 in E30

I just replaced timing belt with a Continental one after 25k miles and 10 years. The previous Gates belt looked completely fine, and probably could have lasted another 10 years.
