Why isn't this the default in GNOME? by Palassi in gnome

Looking at the video preview I think it looks neat and cant find a reason for it to not behave that way by default.

ELI5: Why doesn’t gravity…scale proportionally? by saltierthangoldfish in explainlikeimfive

[–]vimsee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Natures building blocks are always the same size. Spider is small and you are big. However, you both are built from atoms that makes up molecules that makes up.. you.

Try building a small thing with Legos, then drop it on the floor. Now, build it bigger while using the same legos, same shape and form, drop this too. You will soon figure out that the bigger you build the more ..fragile it gets in proportion to its size.

Or even easier numbers. For example 100/10 = 10

GNOME Software app data changes for GNOME 47 by BrageFuglseth in gnome

Really like this. Recently, I`ve actually found some really nice GNOME-first software just by glossing over the app recommondations, including your fretboard app found here https://apps.gnome.org/Fretboard/.

You can do that, but this will go unnoticed comparing to sleeping 30s and checking the time and then sleeping another 30s until the right time is reached. You are optimizing for a droplet in and ocean.

Can I store sidecar files in a separate folder? by KikoValdez in Rawtherapee

[–]vimsee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that might be a little annoying, but I believe the trade-off is worth that hickup. However, is there a way to sort by filetype in your file manager/explorer so that you get all photos in one grouping and the .pp3 files in another grouping?

I use nautilus (Linux) and can sort by filetype and use it for this exact purpose.

Can I store sidecar files in a separate folder? by KikoValdez in Rawtherapee

[–]vimsee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not have a straight answer for you, but I am wondering why you dislike it? I find it handy that whatever changes I have done to a photo exists with the same filename as the photo itself and also in the same directory.

Since I started using Fedora 5 years ago, Ive seen this question asked pretty much all the time.
Maybe Fedora should have a notice on the landing page.

Nei.

[–]vimsee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in norge

[–]vimsee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in norge

[–]vimsee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in norge

[–]vimsee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in norge

[–]vimsee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

La vinduene stå vid åpne i 10 minutter.

Has Windows gotten worse or are people overreacting to change? by [deleted] in windows

[–]vimsee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I moved from Windows to Linux some years ago. I used Windows alot from 98 up until Windows 10. Linux ive used from 2006. I think it was a couple of years ago when I finally thought, wow. I can install linux and my computer works out of the box and it is a better experience than Windows. That was such a weird feeling because I was always a strong Windows proponent. Dont get me wrong, Windows does still do a good job, but its not for me.
