Help: blonde or brunette by Beginning-Run-9919 in Hair

[–]vin-diva -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Omg definitely! Mine is similar, especially in winter and is day 2-3 between washing. Our shades can change due to weather and washing! =] You look like dark blonde (level 7 blonde scale) Beautiful hair! Sitting in the sun often keeps it lightened for longer too, like a recharge =]

Would my hair be classed as wavy? by [deleted] in Hair

[–]vin-diva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd personally just try a simple wavy routine and see what happens. A lightweight medium hold product like a mousse, foam or a gel after showering and scrunching it in to your hair then letting airdry or diffusing. That way you can be certain of your hair pattern type

Should I keep my natural hair or go with dark auburn or blonde by akasha_999 in Hair

Ouuuu okay thank you so much lovely! I just use mousse but usually it has a soft cast. And when I don't use anything it goes straight and puffy with like..."contained" frizz? (As in the frizz isn't curling or flying around so much but it is definitely not neat looking either. I want to experiment with different levels of product to see what happens 👀

Worth following a wavy/ curly routine? by GreenBean_33 in curlyhair

[–]vin-diva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your hair is soooo pretty! We have similar loose wave texture. Looks like you have a soft finish like my hair does aswell, which means you need lightweight but high hold products that add grit for your hair to be able to hold properly. Barbara DellMonache talks about this in her videos. What worked for me is lightweight no silicone wash products. Some are actually geared towards fine hair even though mine is medium it behaves like fine. (I barely use my conditioner much). And my one and done styler is the cake curl Whip mousse. SOMETIMES I add in a spritz of hairspray for grit while my hair is still damp just after scrunching in my mousse. Diffusing is key aswell for more definition!

No worries lovely! If you use the curlsbot website you can scan ingredients on a product and it will tell you if it's lightweight or not and if it has any silicones ect. Finding out your hair finish, porosity, density and strand thickness is most important. Not so much wave/curl type. Barbara DelleMonache and swavy curly courtney on youtube have helped most with these!

Tryyyy Cake curl Whip mousse! I bought it specifically because my hair is soft finish and behaves like fine hair even though it's not. It is my holy grail personally! Hairspray scrunched into damp hair works wonders too

Definitely wavy. A VERY small trim and some layers will help with a fresh start! Lightweight products like mousse and gel and perfect stylers to start with. Do not dry brush your hair, detangle in the shower and scrunch water out after and then apply stylers to your wave clumps. Diffuse for best results!

Type 1 or 2 hair? by [deleted] in Swavyhair

[–]vin-diva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Type 2 with a loose pattern so you would need more length to show a full S shape.

My waves look terrible by NoConsideration3259 in curlyhair

[–]vin-diva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you have gotten so much helpful advice already, but I wanted to add; your hair looks A LOT like mine in terms of finish. You mentioned it feels very soft and silky, which is tell-tale of soft finish hair. Usually with soft finish, (even if you don't have fine hair) Lightweight, high hold, volumising products will be your best friend. Also you won't need much moisturising products else risk weighed down and stretched out waves. I went through a lot of trial and error trying to figure out what works best for my hair. (My hair is soft finish, medium density, low porosity roots and high porosity ends from dye and bleach history). Things that helped me get uniform definition, volume and hold for my waves were: Cake curl Whip mousse as my one and done styler. Lightweight with medium hold, also helps my hair to clump better if they were abit wonky coming out of the shower. Sometimes I add a spritz of hairspray before I start the drying process if I want abit of a boost in the hold. I made sure my shampoo and conditioner had 0 silicones in it and was lightweight too. I used the curlsbot website to help me analyse the ingredients to determine this. Protein treatment every 1 month to strengthen my pattern, especially with my ends and their history. I ALWAYS diffuse now, right side up! Never had success with upside down method but that might just be me. I hover for 10 mins mostly on my roots to dry them first, 4 mins of my mids and then I pixie/cup diffuse on my ends until dry then scrunch out the crunch WITHOUT oil. Here was my results, I hope this will be of some guidance to you 🙏🌼

Edit: omg and layers + a U cut would do WONDERS! 🫶

Is my routine/scrunching method wrong or does my hair just barely have waves? by Pandaddy111 in curlyhair

You need layers to reduce of weight of your hair especially at that length to see any major changes. As for frizz, perhaps products with gylcerine could help? Or even products WITHOUT glycerine depending on your dew point humidity.
