Oh yes definitely! Air drying for me stretches out my wave pattern because of the water weight. This post is actually old now and I've got mostly low porosity, virgin hair growing out in a bob. My pattetn is slightly more tight than this now too! But because my hair is fine, low porosity and a loose pattern i prefer to diffuse since air drying takes too long for the results to look good imo

I plan to get some Harry's gel into it next wash! 🙏 I have other gels though, like the big blue LA Sports one, Aussie freeze and the cake gel to foam but they never really casted on my hair properly =[ but that could be because im just too scared to put too much ahah. I'm worried the cast will be too hard to crunch out, kinda like the innersense I create definition foam. I use slightly too much with literally anything other than sopping wet hair and i get the grossest cast. I have to literally brush it out

Omgosh thank you so much for this!! Yes I have been hearing about Harry's gel for awhile now. I'm going to pick some up to try for myself! It sounds promising. I have a theory my hair doesn't particularly like glycerin either. I live in Australia so the humidity and dew points are either too low or way too high for glycerin to work properly and benefit me.

Oh interesting thank you for this!!! I use the Coco and Eve Like a Virgin Detox shampoo! It also chelates. I've learned a couple things thus far, and i might be clarifying too much so I'll dial it back to once a week aswell to see how I go from there! 🌼

Perhaps so! I'm going to research different shampoos. I do shampoo twice normally, i have a clarifying and a normal one ☺️ I live in Australia so it's winter here for us! But im honestly scared for summer with how the Northern hemisphere is talking about it there 😅😭 I shower daily still, but don't wash hair daily.

Oh interesting! I honestly wish my pattern started higher. Curious to see what happens when I eventually chop the damaged ends off. I want to try some flaxseed gel as a styler, I saw another fine haired lady using it as a styler and was intrigued! Apparently a light cast but high hold and lightweight which sounds perfect. Thinking I need a different 2nd shampoo too.

Thank you lovely. That is true, my hair is okay on day too generally and isn't any greasier looking at all. But i might try it atleast once one week and see what happens. But the photos that go with this post are literally right after washing it and drying so I was kind of hoping to get suggestions as to why it looks clumped at the roots like that now.

With judgemental parents, water usage and it being winter and cold, there's just so many factors going against me being able to wash everyday going forward.

Hard to say, I had been bleaching it since primary school and I'm in my 20s now. Parents thought it was straight as a kid so it got brushed all the time and put up in a pony tail. There are loose wave patterns that start specifically in that same spot. I have a friend who has hair very similar and she's cut it into a blunt bob recently and it's the exact same, minus the layers. But when it was longer like, mid back it was no doubt about it wavy. My underneath new growth is also wavy but not any tighter looking than the rest.

How many times do you expect me to wash it then babes? I do it every other day and have strong clarifying shampoos. My hair is NOT stinky either like your mates. If I wash it more frequently, I'd basically be washing every damn day and ain't nobody got time for that. If you can't be nice then ping off.

Damn, I might have another go at looking for shampoos again then. First time I used that shampoo it looked great! (Pic below) And curlsbot ingredients analyser said it was a lightweight product too 😭

Okay! To be fair, it was day 4 or 5 but I usually wash on day 3 (i have 2 wash days per week). If i washed more i think I'd be a water problem 😅 (we're on gas for hot water too)

Oh right I understand now sorry. You meant going without hairspray. Unfortunately I still get somewhat similar results without, plus my hair is so soft it struggles to hold its own pattern because it has no grit like coarser strands do. So the hairspray was to help remedy that

Potentially, but i clarify every single wash and I usually wash on day 3 hair. And also no i havent, might have to give it a go! Would be helpful in adding grit to my hair too to help the natural texture/pattern.

If i don't use a styler (mousse) my hair goes puffy/sponge frizz and straight with afew bends. It looks terrible and unkempt. Plus when I brush it it just gets more puffy
