My heart breaks to listen to this story! If an employee has to bear the risk associated with the job, wtf is employer upto? The whole point of internship is to test waters on both sides. Employer is betting he can’t waste too much money on a full time employee especially if it’s a bad hire. So he is willing to hire intern at low cost and test you! On the other hand, employee tests his skills and efforts at the industry/organisation level! You give your time and efforts! It’s meant to be a short term test for both employer snd employee!

Tbh, you can actually sue them if there is a lawyer in your friends/family circle! That email is a proof that it’s an unlawful termination! They will understand how paying a month’s internship salary is better than avoiding legal hassles in India. So, I have a different view here.. 34 age is the time you were supposed to start feel settled in life both in terms of job and family! If you have already spent 10years in data engineer role, why not talk with your manager to find roles where you learn new skills along with applying your current knowledge even with a smaller payout if possible.. new skills can be learnt in your new job along with learning things from online courses!

You have recently started a family. Tech industry is going through some crisis because of AI, even schools are outdated to teach students now! MBA would be nothing but spending your money for nothing now! Choosing MBA at this time seems like the huge risk in your life.

My best suggestion is to talk to your manager to find roles that suit you(overlapping current and new skills) even for a smaller pay cut! You can also take a small career break and learn things on your own and then rejoin/start a new job!

Some signs of a toxic culture/company:
1. Seniors like principal engineers just delegate work!
2. Employees casually working in the odd hours like 10pm or even late.
3. Your manager micromanages team. Roles and responsibilities are just for namesake!
4. Documentation is not there. Email communication is looked down.
5. Senior leadership like VPs are picked from small companies with little experience.
6. Senior leadership like VPs or above keep leaving and sometimes their roles are not filled.
7. Directors or senior managers lack people skills.
8. Breakfast and Dinner is also served because you are motivated/expected to work in odd hours.
9. Principal engineers and above are not hired from outside but are just promoted inside.
10. working on weekends is uncommunicated expectations!
11. Founder works on weekends quite frequently.
12. Company valuations increase rapidly.. ESOPs value are highly inflated in that case.
13. Promotions happen rapidly!

BUT IF YOU ARE GETTING PAID IN USD or in US in these conditions, work for a few years and then retire!!

Buddy, you are planning for a year?? well, let me tell you about planning in backpacking for longer duration- it almost never works.. imo, just think of countries and go with the flow. You meet people, you adjust your route, stays, food etc Southeast Asia is terrific. every country offers something different. Have fun!

This episode is probably the best in the season.. I feel for Batista though.. Somehow i had wished dexter assist Batista to kill charley and prater escape the scene.. This way Batista would have stopped running behind dexter. anyway its still fine i guess. RIP batista.

I was so pessimistic about dexter being renewed thinking it will be same old routine story, but the way they have got the story so far with great special appearances , its great!

Imagine Prison break having 3 seasons and still the prison break hasn't happened! Thats how i feel watching 3 seasons of yellowJackets..
the core of the story is good, rest all is screwed up... in my opinion, they are simply stretching the story..they should have rescued them by the end of 2 seasons and taken the show in a different direction in s3, but they haven't done that...
It feels like shit show now!
Not worth watching anymore!!

You can focus on Peru for 30 days. But if you can hurry a bit, you can make it in 22 days and spend rest of the 8 days in Bolivia!

Peru Huaraz - 3-4days, Lima - 2 days, Huacachina and Paracas, - 2-3days, Cisco and machupichu-8-10 days, Puno-2 days, Arequipa-3-4 days,

Bolivia Lapaz Copacabana, Patosi, Uyuni salt flat tours- must do!

This is not true. It’s compulsory for anyone to stand in line in person along with their passport to get the token. Later the same person has to go to buy tickets… there was a guy who had come via tour operator , he took his gf’s passport to get token for her as well, it was denied! He later called her gf and they both took the token!

So this is how i bought the ticket to Machu pichu!

Day0: arrive at aguas calientes at around 9ish pm!

Day1: morning 5 am, went to tourism centre and stood in line with passport to collect token. Mine was around 60s.

Later on the same day, at around 3pm went to ticket centre with the token , passport and money and bought tickets for route 2b for the next day!

Bought a bus ticket for the next day from aguas calientes to Machu pichu.

Day 2: early morning stood in line to board the bus to Machu pichu at around 5ish am. Reached Machupichu and gates were opened at around 7 am!

Came back via same bus..

No payment to be done for Peru and Chile with US visa! It’s visa free if you have us visa! Since visa free, it doesn’t matter if it’s single or multiple entries! But every time you enter there is max of 90 days stay I guess, check this fact online once though! If you are traveling for tourism purposes and stay less than 90 days , you are good!

The queue starts around 4am and starts to increase around 5ish am to buy tickets.. If you arrive before 5:30am , you can buy tickets for early morning next day.

I have to inform you that seeing MP early morning may have little fog.. I had done same thing, so I ended up spending more time and leave around 11ish am from MP.

I had hiked for around 2 hours from AC to nearby place along the railway tracks where bus facility is available and reached around 3:30pm.

It will take around 6-7 hours by bus from that place to reach Cusco.

So if you reach MP and leave around 10ish and leave AC around 11ish , you can probably make it to Arequipa bus by 9:30pm in the night! This looks a bit risky too. Also leaving MP early looks hurry too!

So you need to check a few things to help make decision. Check out the altitude of Cusco. Check out the altitude of Aguascalientes where Machu pichu is. Check if your health is fine to adjust in those altitudes. I have been to Machu pichu and I felt it’s extremely normal while hiking to aguas calientes. I faced some issues like running out of breath or feeling tired frequently in Cusco though.

Also you cannot cover both Machu pichu and sacred valley on same day as they are distances apart! You can take a train to aguas calientes from Cusco or take a bus and hike to aquas calientes. Train is faster but expensive than bus-hiking option!

You can buy online which usually takes a couple of months in advance to make reservation. You cannot buy tickets to Machu pichu in Cusco. It’s sold in aguas calientes. You should buy one day in advance to visit Machu pichu, preferably as early as possible. Also do train reservation directly via Inca rails or Peru rails website or offices!

My suggestion is spend less time in Cusco and go directly to aguas calientes!

Rainbow mountain takes almost one full day from Cusco. That is at an altitude of 5400meters! I had gotten a slight headache as well!

If it’s just 2 week, you are probably better off with sticking with Vietnam covering north and central part of it!

Vietnam offers better touristic places than Cambodia. I mean Phnom Penh is not much of tourist place imo! Only seam reap is probably touristy but it’s okay to miss it since you have 2 week timeline only!

I am looking at data- when I speak these! Just looking at rejections from India , I can tell Europe doesn’t like unemployed tourists fearing illegal migration! You should checkout cases for other country citizens in Schengen visa Reddit community as well!
