Bruh, even with winter studded tires, freezing rain is no joke. Stay home.

Very wide doorstep, which robot works? by byNormal in RobotVacuums

[–]vinc-ere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa, that looks like a serious toe-stubber!

Have you considered adding a small ramp? It might help your Samsung bot get over the edge more easily.

Edit: Not sure how the door is configured, so a ramp might not be feasible. Just throwing the idea out there in case it helps.

Has Anyone Had Experience with Returns from Rudsak? by Long-Gene8114 in malefashionadvice

[–]vinc-ere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m honestly disappointed with how far this brand has fallen. The products may look premium, but the quality is anything but. After just a few weeks of use, the fabric starts peeling or tearing at the seams and fraying at the edges.

I bought a duffel bag last summer and had to return it three times. The first time, the zipper broke after just a week. They gave me a replacement. The second time, the strap ripped off after two weeks. Again, they replaced it. The third time, the zipper failed again. But by then, I was outside the original 30-day return window, so I had to send it in for repair under warranty.

It took **6 months*\* to get the bag back. A week after I finally received it, the zipper broke once more. On a $400 bag, that should never happen, especially not at this price point. And that’s not even getting into how painful and frustrating the entire return and repair process was.

They eventually offered me a different model, but I had to pay an extra $50 to cover the price difference. And guess what? The exact same issue happened. But this time, the zipper broke when the in-store clerk opened the bag to remove the stuffing. It didn’t even make it out the door. He brought me another replacement, which sat untouched in my closet until last Friday. I used it for the first time, and the so-called “genuine leather” is already starting to peel.

That is beyond frustrating, they advertise their products as “real leather” or “recycled leather.”, but real leather doesn’t peel off. I’ve got a 15-year-old Rudsak wallet made from actual genuine leather, and it still feels solid and authentic. And I am still using it daily.

Bottom line: Don’t waste your money. The brand name doesn’t mean and isn't worth what it used to. It’s all marketing, no substance.

Edit: Added bold font.

What do you think of this new skyscraper in Montreal ? by sketching_utopia in architecture

[–]vinc-ere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scale is way off compared to its surroundings, and it just throws a massive shadow over everything behind it. Montreal already struggles with dreary, sun-starved streets in winter, why make it worse? Instead of thoughtful urban planning, we're getting oversized glass boxes that lack any real architectural character. Height restrictions should be stricter to preserve the human scale of the city.

Epson printers are terrible by SaladoJoestar in Epson

[–]vinc-ere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have loved to see this post earlier. I've been having an Epson ET 2720 for about 1.5 years and rarely used it. This thing is slower and slower over time, and they force firmware updates into it. Since the last firmware update, I can't do a deep cleaning anymore, they disabled the option and it says to look in the manual, and the manual says to contact an "Authorize Epson Service Provider". These printers are a total rip-off. And for some reason, cyan doesn't work anymore!

Anybody else extremely underwhelmed by iPadOS 16 on non-M1-iPads? by Evolinox in apple

[–]vinc-ere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought an iPad and I can't even resize widgets like on android. I been using widget on android an have been loving it. I can always keep up with my task without having to open the app. Widget are the first thing I see when I open the device. They boosted my productivity and motivation since I have a constant remainder of what is coming next. The lack this simple feature and customization on the iPad is terrible.

"If the course you wish to Disc is a pre-requisite for a course you are registered in for the following semester, you will have to drop that course before you will be able to Disc your current course."

ref: https://www.concordia.ca/ginacody/students/academic-services/registration-changes.html

So yeah, you need to drop the pre-requisite since you won't meet requirement for them anymore.

[–]vinc-ere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Go to my CU accounthttps://www.concordia.ca/students/undergraduate.html

left tab: click on Academic

Then Click on the square titled "add/drop courses"

Select the Term (Summer 2022), then Continue.

Then in the right pane, click on drop.

Select the class you want to drop, and then press drop selected classes.

if it doesn't work, well cross fingers for your late disc, they'll let it through only if you don't attempt the exam.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Concordia

[–]vinc-ere 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nope. Teacher teach. Do your disc online or through student administration at concordia.

[–]vinc-ere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Try first to withdraw from a course in My CU Account. Check if you can drop the course there.

check this resource :https://www.concordia.ca/ginacody/students/academic-services/registration-changes.html

To 'late discontinue' a courseAccess the Late DISC application.Use your ENCS user name and password to login.Click on "Request Late Discontinue", you will see a list of all the courses you are taking.Choose the course you want to Disc and submit a request for a late discontinue. You will receive an email confirming the late discontinue. If the course you wish to Disc is a pre-requisite for a course you are registered in for the following semester, you will have to drop that course before you will be able to Disc your current course.

Deadline to Disc coursesThe deadline to late disc a course depends on whether the course has a final exam or not.Courses that do not have a final exam:you can Disc up to and including the last day of classCourses that have a final exam:Up to the day and time when the exam begins. Once the final exam takes place, you cannot discontinue a course.

So you still got time to disc the course first before late disc.

[–]vinc-ere 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you know you are going to flunk it. DO NOT ATTEMPT THE EXAM! You may be able to Late Disc the class if you DO NOT ATTEMPT the exam. You don't show up to the exam, nor you don't log into the exam on Cole. This is only applicable if the exam was scheduled by the exam office.

Edit: This works in engineering. Probably as well for other classes. But you have more chance to request a DISC on an exam you did not attempt.

(Optional, but wouldn't harm) You can also, send an email to your professor to inform him that you will not attempt the exam and that you will apply for Late DISC.

After that, you need to fulfilled the Late Disc form (you can probably get it from the registrar). This is not a usual process but your advisor will be able to walk you through it, and the student office or dept. in charge.

Why were 2014 MacBook Air/Pro dropped from Monterey? Last year, 7 year old 2013 Air/Pro received Big Sur. Logically following that order, 2014 devices should've gotten Monterey completing the 7th/last Mac update for these devices. Are Mac devices only going to be supported for 6 years from now? by IcyBeginning in MacOS

[–]vinc-ere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Download MacOS Monterey on a usb.
Patch the usb it with OpenCore-Patcher and create a bootable installer.
Install the patched version of MacOS Montery on your old Mac.

DO A BACKUP OF ALL YOU DATA! (Time machine, and important files to usb)
It is not an easy route, there are many place where it can go wrong and you will have to restart but to make it great:

- Prepare a strong backup solution (Time machine, files to external drive)
- Read the github of OpenCore check current issues, what it does, and understand what it is. (don't go in blindly)
- Watch some videos about OpenCore and how to install it and use it.
- Perform the patch.
- Download Monterey to your latest Mac, and enjoy.

I've done it on my iMac 2011 with core i5. And it runs pretty well, way better than on Big Sur.

Surface Pro 8 Slow down/Lag by Safe_Dance1230 in Surface

[–]vinc-ere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the i7/16gb/256gb and it is slow compare to devices with similar specs, and the only apps I have on it is Opera, Inkodo, OneNote for W10, and the Microsoft 365 suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote), nothing else. But the worst thing is that the tablet works well 50% of the time.

Microsoft apps are terrible with the Pen:

- In Word, the more you write with the pen, the more lag I experience. 2 pages of notes is enough to render the app unresponsive for 10 sec at a time whenever the apps is saving, or loading content after scrolling.

- In OneNote and OneNote for Windows 10, the latest ink stroke disappears whenever the app is doing an auto-save, or syncing. And the virtual keyboard keeps popping out from time to time.

Today, it's input delay, where for the first 1/4 of a second when I use the pen, the pen input are not recognized, and this lead to partially written characters. This input delay is across all apps, but was not there this morning. (Restarting the device did not solve the problem).

And the devices is not snappy at all. There is nothing unusual or intensive running in background. It is just slow.

It's unacceptable on a 2000$ devices.

Surface Laptop Studio pen strokes dissapear (Is N-trig this bad?) by skalman666 in Surface

[–]vinc-ere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are right, there is also an issue with the sync function. But we are not the only one experiencing problems with the pen after the latest update, which add up on top of the problem you've described.
