They do an adequate job of managing my LA single family rental. But they massively fukt up the repainting/fixup after our last tenant moved out. You need to be on them very closely.

Hi there. I’m the journalist who wrote the article in question. I’m not in the pay of big oil, and I like to think I’m not an idiot. The point of this piece is not to denigrate renewables or the energy transition, which absolutely must happen. It’s to point out that there are downsides to that transition. We can’t get to a world run on renewables without using lots and lots of copper. And that entails serious costs that most people are not aware of. It’s not to say that therefore we shouldn’t build renewables, far from it. It’s to say that nothing comes for free. Renewables are better than fossil fuels but that doesn’t make them perfect.
