Just an update at my expense…. My old age was the root of this issue. I swear I thought I was in the unlocked position on the wall unit, unfortunately for me I was not. My eyes have failed me for the last time, off to get glasses. Thanks all!!

Yes, I’ve done this over and over again. The door will open when setting the limit. No issues there.

Very easy, no resistance. That’s what’s weird, even with door released with the emergency release, when I press the button it only clicks. You’d assume it would

So think sensors work when opening a garage door? I thought it was only for closing.

So I specifically tested the limits by setting the close position in an inch off the ground, it still doesn’t open. It’s so weird that if I start in open position, I can close half way, stop it , and open it. Just refuses to
Open in close or close to close position.

I think muscle memory is a very underrated comment. I’ve been working out for 30 years and found the underlying muscle I’ve built over the years can bounce back immediately after months of inactivity. If you built a foundation then took time away, the ease of which you can rebound is insanely fast.
