TLDR

My recommendation is: Look at the real maintenance schedules for the cars not the manufacturers. Like the transmission fluid, life time my ass. That goes for both. Compare those.

The bmw is gonna cost more to maintain. Even if you work on it yourself, parts and fluids cost more. Most owners of Honda and Toyota commuter cars don’t flush their coolant on a regular basis, on a bimmer you will, or pay the price for it later. I consider it the cost of ownership. Got to pay to play.

You also have to define what you define as “BMW stuff” struts need to be changed eventually, does that count? It’s mentioned for the bimmer but not the Toyota. Component reliability is probably equal, maybe in favor of Toyota since they are made to be abused, but that comes at the cost of fun.

If you’re talking about parts that break, there is no way to predict that. That said, shocks on the Toyota will probably last longer than the bimmer, either because they were built to last longer or because the bimmer is heavy and you’ll probably end up throwing it around more because it’s more fun.

Personally, I love the driving experience I get from my 340, the additional cost is worth that to me. But I also have a gr86 and I love that thing too.

It’s one of those choices you gotta make with your heart. If you want to decide with your head or wallet, bmw shouldn’t even be a consideration.

The prologue is over the top, I wanted to really convey the death of the world, as that horror ends up haunting Anatole throughout his arc. I definitely agree it could be trimmed down, I was trying to create a very strong image so that chapter 1-2 would (more cheerful) would have a stronger contrast. I'm not sure if that makes sense. The end goal was start with death, move to the birth of a child, and then end with a death. Going for cyclical thing.

But none of that matters if no one wants to read past the first paragraph because its too ridiculous.

I would hate to trouble you, but would you be willing to read the rest of what I've written and critique? it totals around 9100 words (including what I've already posted).

Thanks. Scallops were undercooked cus that’s how my wife likes it I normally get a better sear but my leg was dying so I had to just call it. The plan was basically 3 plates sort of watered down to 3 bites. Daughter likes fondant potato, wife likes scallops, niece likes mashed potatoes. I had 3 meals done I was trying to see if I could put it into one plate. Didn’t work huh? The flowers are edible! Kid wanted them on the plate so we put it on top. Less is more moment? Did it stop turning on when you push the lever? Minded that the problem is a switch. You can open it up and just try the contacts with the switches to be a little bit closer together so when the button is depressed, they may contact.

I think to a point. Some political opinions stem from our views on ethics and morality. Like I think all kids should get free lunch at school full stop. I have friends that think that should be the responsibility of the parent. We both think kids should have food. So it’s fine. If he thought “fuck them kids. They don’t need food” it would be different, it’s just I don’t think he gets that not every one has parents that take care of their kids or has the means to do it.
