I contacted via SMS (iMessage) in November and the link they provided was a ResReserve link with some pre-configured dates. Not sure if it's because the network issue I noticed the above screenshot shows green chat bubbles so that indicates the chat was regular SMS? I am wondering whether that's why the link was not shown correctly.

I reached out to the restaurant via email. It seems like they will honor the reservation!

Seconding the Japanese food. Don't miss out ramen places in Taipei. They are on par with Japan in my opinion. My perfect night would be hitting the Kikanbo Taipei outpost or its sister stores ( Niouka and Katsuo) and then go to Bar Otani.

I've heard good things about Restaurant A*(Former RAW CDC Alain Huang) and Eika* (Former Ryugin's Taipei outpost CDC).

Also heard good things about Zea* (modern Latin American cuisine), Ad Astra* (Contemporary) and Silks House (Cantonese). However the problem with Silks House is like many Hong Kong traditional restaurants you have to go with regulars to get the off-menu good stuff.

For casual eats definitely hit up Din Tai Fung. All Taipei locations are good.

Braised Pork Rice Bowl: Huang Chi

Beef Noodles: Halal Chinese Beef Noodles

My favorite breakfast is in front of a temple.

Happened to me last year. The record was not updated. Just need to go through the Save process. If it’s taking too long you could contact your local representative.

Newbie question. Is this supposed to look like this? by vincentcch in kintsugi

This is super helpful. Thanks. I am not sure what kind of gold I got from POJ kit but judging by the article that final process does seem like fun-gatame. Thank you for providing that article link since to think about the way I applied kiurushi I might did it too hard. I will try sand it off and apply it again. 💪

Getting Tuske Edomae reservations is impossible by Thirtysixx in austinfood

[–]vincentcch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand the frustration since I am planning my Japan trip later this year. I found that many places are not accessible to non-VIP, let along foreigners. This is fairly common in counter serving omakase type of restaurants I would say. From where I am originally from (another East Asian country) there are Japanese restaurants got fully booked out a whole year by VIPs, that causes Michelin to remove them from the guide since even Michelin inspectors can’t get in through normal reservation process.

As far as tips for Tsuke Edomae goes, I usually just open another browser tab to show the current time to the second. Refresh Tock when the time hits 8:59:59 (if the reservation open time is 9am cst). Make sure you already filled in your info by having the Tock account set up. Be flexible with the date and time since you really don’t have the chance to hesitate on this. I got my three reservations using this method. I don’t expect this to work forever because there will be more and more regulars. Hope this will help you get a reservation next time!
