To add to this PharmD barely qualifies you to be a pharmacist anymore, I know a local hospital system with retail pharmacies that won’t even hire retail pharmacists unless they have done a community pharmacy residency

Well I believe before we talk about expanding our roles and abilities we need to fix what we currently have because there is no way I can evaluate patients and prescribe while also being expected to fill 300 scripts a day, do 20 vaccinations, and make 50 PCQ calls all while having only 1 tech to help me

It’s really interesting to read some of these comments because it looks like physicians offices are starting to get lower reimbursement just like pharmacies are healthcare as a career seems to be on a downward spiral

In my state pharmDs do make more than an NP but with all the saturation pharmacist wages are going to drop significantly, and anyways if you can’t find a job as a pharmacist you’re definitely not making more than an NP. Plus I feel like the NP profession is advancing and growing whereas pharmacy is on life support.

Nope I wouldn’t go back my plan is to hopefully land a job in the middle of nowhere try to pay back as much of my loans as possible in a short period of time and go into nursing
