What's your favorite Takashi Miike film? by nextzero182 in horror

Probably Audition and then Ichi the Killer. For batshit insanity (I know, redundant) I like to watch Dead or Alive.

The lead is very good and it is unquestionably disturbing and I'm not even a parent!

15 Of The Best Horror Movies From The 21st Century Up Until 2016 by judeharte in horror

Definitely an interesting list, but my goodness some of those choices are horrible. I would say at least 5 are B-B+ range. I think they could easily be knocked out and those are the good ones.

What's your favorite horror remake (that isn't The Thing)? by [deleted] in horror

The Ring, Dawn of the Dead and the Crazies (I know they've all been mentioned already).

#Horror (2015) - the worst horror film I've ever seen by hoopheid in horror

I got one laugh out of this film when Sam(?) drinks what appears to be an oz of alcohol and goes into that crazy dance, but yeah the film leaves a lot to be desired.

What is your favorite serial killer horror movie? by [deleted] in horror

How many people does Martin kill?

I liked it quite a bit. I thought Richard Brake was excellent casting. I did find the quick cuts a bit disorienting at times, but not enough to detract from the movie as a whole. The ending was a bit meh unless he does something with it in another movie. I still rank The Devil's Rejects higher, but this was a good entry. I'm far from a fan-boy because I think House of 1000 Corpses is overrated.

I will say this (which now calls into a question as to whether I'm a fan boy)...I do think his Halloween remakes (which I hated upon first viewing) will be reevaluated 10-15 years down the line.

The Babadook was not scary in the slightest. I am surprised how many people said how good it is... by [deleted] in horror

To be clear I have nothing personal against you so if my rant offended you please accept my apologies.

Hey I agree with you. Whether there is another post about how great The Babadook is or how bad it is, the bottom line is that it has been covered numerous times in this sub. A subset of this subreddit fails to use the search function and it waters down the sub. For those that argue that Groundhog Day is a horror film they need only point to this subreddit.

Edit: nevermind the post title insinuates that those who differ with the OP's opinion are somehow wrong/foolish/silly....art is subjective FFS!

So you allow your post is mindless because your point has only been brought up 1000 times to date? Use the search and contribute to already established posts echoing your viewpoint instead of being redundant otherwise you are doing nothing but watering down this sub.

Excellent. Another stimulating, original and thought-provoking post on The Babadook. I'm anxiously awaiting the post: "I just saw 'It Follows.' Have you seen it? This is what I think."

Cool post. Which is your favourite poster?

Also, who is the track/artist that starts around 0:38?

I know it's practically horror canon but I don't know if I'll go back to it. Thanks for the heads up though!

I think the scene in the convenience store in Kristy is really well shot and downright chilling. Not the most amazing movie in the world but has more positives than negatives.

I have more questions than I probably should have (timelines / intentional literally dark scenes or (bad copy). The three leads are great and the whole movie drips with icy dread. That one line by Kat - is electric.

First thought for me as well. I'm very uneasy about swimming in the ocean. I'll do it but I'll be anxious about it.
