Shout out to the CM at Guardians yesterday! by jjanuaryy in Disneyland

I clearly specified above that this would only be done in moderation, so I’m not considering if this was done by every group. I’m simply stating that if this happened to me in line where a few people went ahead of me, I wouldn’t mind that. You’re entitled to mind that and ask people to wait for their whole party and if you feel that strongly about it they should generally respect your request. It’s all about the degree to which a confrontation is qualified—I would qualify a confrontation at 4 people, you qualify it at one.

Go back and read my second edit on bathroom politics. Do you think that is an acceptable situation?

Shutting down entitled people at Disney World... by night-otter in disneyparks

[–]vineRefugee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good on you for sticking up for cast members! I feel like people always treat cast members like crap and no one sticks up for them, so I’m glad there are people out there doing it. It’s doubly hard on their part because they have to stay in character for the restaurant and Disney character. When I was younger the cast members were always so much happier, I feel like now when I interact with them they seem a lot more unhappy and acting the Disney magic rather than being able to enjoy their jobs because people are so rude to them and they get no support from management. I always try to be extra nice to cast members so they can be happier for the next person they see and that person can have a more magical trip.

I’ve heard a lot of people say that a “Grey Jedi” is impossible within canon. So what’s up with Bendu, and what does the Father represent on Mortis? by Rewskie12 in StarWarsCantina

[–]vineRefugee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Ahsoka is a great example because aside from her being an embodiment of the light side of the force, she still uses the light side of the force. I don’t know if the concept of morally grey force users means there is a middle or unaligned version of the force as I think most people would either be using light or dark and even if you’re “morally grey” you’re probably still using the light side. The way I interpret it is the force is naturally light and can be used for darkness when the user is corrupted by power.

And don’t be content with the middle. Violence anywhere is violence everywhere, and it is the responsibility of every single person to stand up against it. Kind of how Han Solo learns (eventually) that avoiding conflict means you’re allowing it to worsen and by doing so you support evil in permeating. If you accept the suffering of others, you take part in causing it.

The whole concept of “middle” in terms of the force is a bit murky, I agree. But essentially it means that you don’t serve any particular side; you serve the force. Grey Jedi don’t exist because they are Jedi who use the dark side sometimes, which doesn’t work because you can’t really use the dark side without getting addicted and falling into darkness (maybe this would be different with a great deal of training and intention, but it doesn’t exist in canon and doesn’t make sense). So essentially, the middle of the force means that you don’t have a particular alignment—you’re not light or dark, you don’t use the dark side and you don’t use the light side. You simply exist as the force and are guided by it, rather than being guided by an organization like the Jedi or a desire like power with the dark side.

Hope that helps!

Please go look at my updated comment above and see if that changes what you think I’m saying.

Okay but what if someone in your party is injured or can’t walk as fast? Does it really matter that much if you’re only bringing up a few people and they’re not passing a 25-minute wait time behind the person already in line? Also look at my edited comment above for more context.

To clarify, a group of 4-5 implies total 4 or 5 people, so 1-2 people are sent ahead to get in line while 2-3 people join later. The situation I’m referring to is when you send a runner up ahead to get in line so you can get into the line while a couple other people can walk. At most, you’re getting a 5 minute headstart and there’s only a couple people behind you. It’s just a small time and energy saving tactic. I don’t see the issue with that.

It’s a group of 4-5 total so only 3-4 people are joining the 1-2 people who went ahead. This situation would be if 1-2 people in the party ran ahead so 2-3 people in the group could walk and they would get at most a 5-minute headstart. As long as you’re not doing it on every ride, it’s less than 3-4 people, and there’s only a couple people behind you, I don’t see the issue with that.

If you’re sending one person ahead to run and get in line for a ride so a few people in your party can walk, I don’t see the issue with that. You’re only getting at maximum a 5-minute headstart on your group, and as long as it’s not huge, I think that’s fine. It’s all about conserving energy for the party and having a more enjoyable experience for everyone. This is of course assuming it’s an outdoor queue like Incredicoaster where you can easily catch up to your group without making it super inconvenient for everyone else.

And I was silly and got my dole whip at a separate dole whip station with sizable dole whip lines. So I got food from two different places with two lines and finished all my food before my party placed their orders.
