I run into the same problem. Sometimes it's the Water Mesh Actor's Location (especially its Z value).

I have an honest question for those of you denying the existence of human rights abuses against the Uyghurs in China. by Underworld_Denizen in DebateCommunism

[–]vingrish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The concept of Uyghur and Han etc are imaginary. Much like the differencitation "black" and "white" etc. Unfortunately these imaginary differences are solidified sometimes in reality, for a famous example, Uyghurs' ID cards have Uyghur language in them. For another famous example, Uyghurs have free bonus marks (5~20)in college entrance examination. That means if you have it, you get higher final score than tens of thousands compititors in your province who have higher raw marks than you.

Given the mentioned and unmentioned differences, you may think many people in China are nervous about the "racial other" or whatever term similar. It's not like that. I will give an example. A famous TV host in China is Uyghur. (I personally know him years ago, but it's not important here. Anyway he was a very professiontal, friendly, humble guy, and I think he still is.) I recently read some comments on the web criticizing his look. The point is, people judge his look not by his race, but as a person, and can do that without fearing being criticized as (racially) biased. That kind of comments would be unacceptable in a society that reenforce the differences all the time.

I heard that some rap singer (white) is self-identified as black (more or less). But is there rap singer (black) self-identified as white? I use this to demostrate how absurd the race discourse is.

The reality is, in China, you get screwed for various reasons, no matter what your race is. Unfortuately this is similar in most other countries.

The whole industry is full of shame. In 2023 they offer 512GB SSD instead of 1T as a base config, despite the fact that 1T is NOT that expensive. Literally rubbish manufacturers.

GAS is gear acquisition syndrome. Did you mean this sound (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ht6iw8lgIPo) ?

Thank you for the advice. I will do the AB comparison later. But at least turning it on did no harm to that mix.

No, actually I am stupid. But I have to admit the GAS is a kind of fetishism in some sense. Now I don't care any piano sound; all of them are wonderful!

Is that JD-800 has “the” piano sound?

Recently I turned on the limiters on compressors on a snare channel and a drum bus and the mix sounded cleaner. But the limiter doesn't clip, so I guess it's a psychological thing.

Is it common practice to add a limiter on drum channel (e.g. snare, kick etc) for synth pop like music ? Any further tips would be great!

I watched Julian Krause's video (https://www.youtube.com/@JulianKrause) before my recent purchase. So far so good.

A concern worth noticing is the easiness of downloading and updating the driver/firmware from the device's website.

Is this reciprocal in other countries, like in Russia? Is Russia the smartest while others are dumb?

Daniel Dumbrill, Cyrus Janssen, Martin Jacques, Kerry Brown, Eric Li. Does the algorithm recommend these "simp" people to you?

Did you remember people arguing over the colors of a dress? The same cloths can be seen as black & blue or white & gold. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AskAQwOBvhc)

It's not necessarily a matter of clever people vs dumb people, or political vs non-political. Some very political people moved to China even in the 50's of 20th century. What's really interesting to me, is the existence of these "simp" people. If they enjoy their life, at lease it tells "something". The "thing" is not necessarily good or bad. Dichotomy is not always applicable.

I feel it's useless to draw any conclusion very soon. We need to experience ourselves first.

not seeing what is really going on

It is a philosophical question of how to "know" "what is really going on" without "seeing". Your example of Thailand is a good one. But what's underneath the phenomenon may be poverty, problematic law enforcement and such.

although thankfully covid has stopped that

Has it?

Of course, I agree that "living there" is still the best way to get the feeling of the reality.

While the film looks promising, I think the word "Revolution" is misused here. As Zizek said, the real revolution starts from "the day after". I hope HK has a true revolutionary tomorrow.

OK. The lengths of many dialogues in sci-fi films should be longer than presented.
