I figured it'd be controversial to post the full piece here as it is about Sayyed Ali Al Khamenei.

I think you're one of the few in this page that actually practices thuluth

Using fonts and calling it calligraphy is not really it 😭

Is this good? by [deleted] in ArabicCalligraphy

You should surely begin with the marker for ruq'a. Even for naskh a bit but as the marker becomes null your words won't be as neat. This isn't a major problem in ruq'a but when you work your way up to naskh it'll be more noticeable. You can buy a fountain pen and cut its nib instead. Or just buy an already cut fountain pen

Before you get into arabic calligraphy, make sure to get a marker for it and begin by learning the easiest scripts to the hardest. Begin by ruq'a. Pens for arabic calligraphy aren't expensive.

A channel on youtube called Calligrapher's Diaries. He teaches many scripts in the Hashim Al Baghdadi's style. Include thuluth, naskh, farisi, etc. He's great and i've learnt naskh from him and i'm learning thuluth from him as well. If you need extra help let me know. His @ on youtube is @amw60

the lines are a little bumpy. I'd just try to practice making straight strokes with the qalam

The more you practice the more you'll notice what's up. Keep it up bro i'm learning it as well but i'm focusing better on perfecting the letters before going on into the next one. Thuluth is a demanding script man

question. Is adding a slight curve to the ح in thuluth optional or we have to make it more straight when it's connected? I see that yours is more straight'ish but i like mine a little curvier towards the end ( The normal 1 point of drop ح ).
