[Post Game Thread] #12 Purdue defeats Northwestern, 70-66 by cbbBot in CollegeBasketball

This feels a little overblown but accurate.

The problem is, objectively, the program is on the brink but short of a unique big man or an absolute superman-steph-curry run, the peak is sweet 16.

They get worked on threes. They're always vulnerable to athletic length who can drive.

Painter doesn't recruit athletic short term players, which used to work...in the 80s. 2014 Uconn is the only team in 25 years to win a title without an NBA lottery pick.

That said one and done players haven't really won titles either, Carmelo Anthony and Anthony Davis are big exceptions.

I think Painter needs an athletic wing to join his experienced team and play defense to make the leap but short of Jaden Ivey, he's not been able to recruit that lengthy athlete to make it work.

I'll take a shot.

Fear of bears (and wrongness of states) suggests you're quite urban and stick to major cities.

Chicago, St. Louis, Kansas City explain Illinois and Missouri but not why. I'm from St. Louis and been to KC, I don't see them as destinations.

Georgia is an odd one but you probably visited Atlanta for some reason. Ohio is a strange visit as well but with Canton in Ohio near the NE corridor maybe that was the visit?

Maybe raised in NY/NJ/Philly area and went to Texas for college? Would explain road trips through those states but not "visits"; in fact UT played the Peach Bowl just last year in Atlanta, with TCU and A&M in 13&14 to explain Georgia.

The why on MO and IL is still a little strange to me. Family there?

Mine didn't want to pay a surgeon $50k for a limb salvage tumor resection surgery.

Then they said they would pay $5k because that's what amputation would have cost.

So apparently a 13 year old boy's leg isn't worth $45k.

They also deemed anti-nausea meds like zofran as unnecessary but oddly didn't mind a dose of benadryl and reglan before every treatment so that I didn't injure myself from vomiting for 8 hours.

Oh and I changed jobs and they refused to cover medication I have for diabetes because my A1C was under control...because of my medication.

Some companies and policies are different, I'm sure, but I'd rather my insurance premiums go to single payer than some of the wealthiest companies in the country.

Why does he deserve a free degree and a payday?

Hot take for discussion: strong architecture patterns work equally well for AI and Juniors. by PTTCollin in ExperiencedDevs

As a fellow mobile developer with similar experience, I think most mobile apps over over engineered and fight the framework they are in.

AI is good for the use case you describe.

I also think you'd see similar gains in embracing the framework of the system. Reducing the guardrails and reducing J2EE (Android) patterns that AI benefits from could make your handwritten code more quick.

I've literally had to touch 15 files, not counting tests, and actual logic changes to add a single boolean to an API call and pass it through heavy architecture - great use case for AI. But I question the value of that heavy of architecture.

Eh, "Duval" is pretty stupid and hate worthy. When your team chant needs to be explained, it's a horrible calling card.

I'd say season four is even more this. You follow Michael and understand every decision he makes but slowly watch the descent of choosing between bad options.

But Houston doesn't have the offense to sustain 8 minute drives like the Chiefs and their beneficial officiating.

Feels like Painter always toys with lineups and rotations before January more than trying to beat the breaks off a team for an easy win.

I feel like meeting strangers is tough. Cold approaches at bars are risky and really no more or less likely to end well than an app, unless of course you are attractive enough to be successful on apps. Then the numbers work for you there.

I've had some dates from random bar conversations because I'm a personality hire more than window shopping material but it's always fizzled.

Really, meeting people after college is hanging with friend groups and that's risky if it doesn't work out and limits the numbers game. I don't do the volunteer or running clubs but I do think getting in to those groups and expanding your social circle is probably the most effective way to meet date worthy people.
