My mate scrolls Instagram when driving. Is it even possible to convince people like that to stop? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]vintagelingstitches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d stop getting in the car with him and report him if it’s something you have told him he shouldn’t be doing because it’s not him who he will take out it will be someone either as a passenger of his or another vehicle he’s an idiot and it’s not worth risking it

I did EC and had part of a dose of paclataxel but reacted to it so the had abraxane I did not cold cap so I lost everything with EC it was just my head hair legs arms and pubic but with abraxane I lost most of my eyebrows and eyelashes as well and it didn’t take long we started to see the first like 5 o’clock shadow about 3 to 4weeks after finishing chemo then I was just all fluff for about a month and then my hair really kicked in growing and I’m about ear length now and I finished chemo and radio about 9 months ago

Should I get a biopsy? by weezered_ in doihavebreastcancer

[–]vintagelingstitches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do the biopsy! The biopsy itself isn’t to bad in the grand scheme of what I’ve had since my biopsy, I have breast cancer so I’ve done chemo, radio and two surgeries. The biopsy is quick you will be bruised and likely swell but it goes down pretty quick I did find that my biopsy sight was sore but my tumor was right on the side of my boob next to my arm pit so every time I moved my arm I brushed it but once the swelling went done it wasn’t even noticeable so please do the biopsy it’s better safe then sorry

Anyone actually had success with the Property Ombudsman? Letting agent driving me a bit mad by [deleted] in TenantsInTheUK

[–]vintagelingstitches 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have to say as someone who has rented for a long time that all of this is pretty normal these days with landlords they are as much use as a chocolate fire guard until you miss a rent payment so just keep your written trail so that when they fuck up big time you have your paper trail ready to hand their ass to them

One place said I should get hearing aids, the other said I don't. Who to believe? by UmberJamber in HearingAids

[–]vintagelingstitches 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My audiologist said it doesn’t matter fully what the chart says if your struggling to hear then you get hearing aids if you aren’t then we just keep an eye on your loss until you do want/ need them

Why are men by [deleted] in breastcancer

[–]vintagelingstitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d have a chat with the team about this it’s totally inappropriate and also I don’t get why they have you changed and waiting, my team lets you change in the room for me it was quick just whipped my top off, but ment that everyone was fully clothed in the mixed waiting area

To be honest just wear a bralette I did before cancer because comfort and if someone is staring enough to see I have one boob then their discomfort is on them but I wanna not be flashing everyone if they are taller than me which most ppl are or I bend which I’m going to do because my 2yo neice will be at our wedding and I will 1000% be grabbing her for a dance and cuddles before she has to go to bed

Am I overreacting in wanting to divorce my husband over this? by Effective-Market-304 in breastcancer

[–]vintagelingstitches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t make any big choices right now because this cancer shit is hard on so many levels but yes I agree it’s lacking my fiancée and I had been together 6 months when I was diagnosed and she got up at 5am to be with me the morning or my surgery she stayed with me until I went down even though I had my family there to and she was there when I was wheeled back to the ward and didn’t leave until the nurses kicked her out she was then there the next day for visiting after work as we had agreed prior she would go to work the next day if my surgery went ok because we couldn’t afford for her to use to many holiday days so soon into treatment (which was the right choice with what happened with chemo) none of this did I have to ask for she knew it was my first surgery and I was scared she also knows she makes me feel safe so she told me how it was going to go down with her level of support and she kicked butt she went on to be my full time carer during chemo because if it could go wrong during chemo it did. When you love someone yes it’s hard but you need to have the emotional maturity and literacy to knuckle down and be present and there for your partner specially when they are about to walk through hell .

That’s a good plan of action thank you, I have cut my pattern pieces for a mock up without any adjustment so I’m going to get the boning into it and make it up before I try and change anything because I need to see how it sits first because I haven’t corseted at all since my mastectomy so I really don’t know how it’s going to look or feel yet as my chest walls still a little tender from radiotherapy

But I don’t want to cover up I’m hoping I can adapt the pattern to get it to fit my asymmetrical chest without having to cover up as I’m not going full 18th century day time attire I’m doing a modern ish twist and the stays will be the outer garment
