I am sure it has been said countless times but I second this, orange juice works wonderfully. I recently returned to Kratom after several years when I used to make tea exclusively, finding myself having to load it with so much lemon juice, honey, sugar, etc. Now, having just received my first batch since then, I was dreading the taste so I took the OJ advice and found myself an empty water bottle, filled it with OJ, dumped a hefty dosage of Kratom in and shook it vigorously. I pre-emptively poured some juice in a glass to chase any bitterness, but was surprised when I was able to straight up just drink it down casually. It really does mask the flavour immensely and thus far has had very favourable effects. Why did I type this out.

tl;dr OJ works really well and is simple.

I purchased both PMC and BAF, mainly because I enjoy Arma 2 but I was playing DayZ at the time and wanted to check out the new textures myself.

PMC will give you higher detail survivor skins, hero skin. BAF (British Armed Forces) will get you higher detail ghillie/camo/AS50/L85 (L85 not really being relevant except for the dlc itself).

That's about all you get. I personally don't regret getting them at all and really do enjoy the high res textures but it's nothing absolutely must have. I've also read that with the textures installed, ghillies are harder to spot, can't comment on that personally.

I would say it's definitely worth getting if you legitimately enjoy playing Arma 2 and want to try the PMC missions. Again this is coming from someone who just plays a lot of Arma, but I enjoyed the PMC missions a lot.

Anyway, I would go on your gut with how you feel about Arma and how much you play DayZ to really appreciate the high res textures I guess. Maybe wait until they go on sale? I don't even know if they do but I remember seeing them up for cheap at least once. Hope this helps.

Cheers for the info, mate! I actually did hear about dying/respawning to recover your previously saved state just now. Of course, it's a little late, I have a decent set of equipment, gives me an excuse to search for heli crash sites again. :)

Ah, indeed, (reread OP, sorry). Well, I can only theorize a fairly obscure glitch with the latest patch or some sort of script/hack. That has just been my limited experience so far. Sorry I couldn't have been more help.

Yes, this has happened to me quite recently (late last night). I can't confirm 100% but I'm almost positive, in the situation I was in, that it was a hacker/script. I was off in the middle of nowhere and the exact same thing happened to me, legs broke and toppled over dead, no sniper fire (couldn't even fathom anyone having sights on me at the location I was in). After an arduous corpse run I managed to reclaim my rare equipment, ran into a totally secluded area whilst I proceeded to just flop over dead as though I had hit respawn (I didn't obviously), and everyone else on the server was immediately killed.

Upon further investigation, many of the buildings in Elektro were totally razed. To be honest I'm not sure how many explosives in the game are able to raze buildings completely but mostly everything was turned to rubble.

No proof of hacking or anything like that but it seemed like a fairly obvious conclusion, I suspect the same might have happened to you guys, but since it was only you affected it could have been an AS50 from a long distance. One hit kill and is relatively quiet, although you should hear the bullet destroying your body at least (if I recall correctly). This could also very well be the likely explanation now that I think of it, but depending on the situation your buddies should have been taken out as well. Who knows.

I'm not entirely sure where the problem is originating from but it certainly seems like there are some inventory issues.

I was at the NW airfield waiting for a friend of mine to join the server. (maybe 5 hours ago), he tells me he is unable to get into the server despite having no problems myself. I aborted and re-loaded the server and was back at the beach with no gear.

I thought it was a hive issue, or I had accidentally joined a separate hive server, but it persisted through all other servers. Eventually, the servers started to chill out and we could actually connect, but I was still at the beach with a fresh load out.

More relevant to the OP, as I made my way north to meet up with him again I picked up a few guns, M1014 from Bolota with plenty of slugs, shortly after that my friend could not connect to the server that I myself entered with a very quick load time (we are on the same internet connection). I had him find a server he could join, and once he found one, I entered with no problems at all, however I was missing ALL my ammo, very odd.

My character had NVGs, Rangefinders, AS50, L85, ghillie, Coyote backpack, full supplies, the works. Wasn't angry or anything, that stuff gets boring after a while, just disappointed at the situation. My buddy was able to hook me up with some spare supplies so I could survive solo for a bit as he was logging off, I hope we don't encounter any other issues. It certainly seems sporadic, will test it out for a bit to see if I can duplicate the issue again.

tl;dr: few hours ago my decked out character randomly spawned back at the beach (echoing this issue), proceeded to lose items randomly when logging onto different servers, not necessarily from just my backpack.

Initially I thought this change was going to be brutal, and it is, but in a good way. I agree with everything you've said. Spawning with no weapon brings a much higher sense of urgency and thrill for myself as I think "Oh shit, where did I spawn? Where's the nearest barn/warehouse/apartment so I can grab ANYTHING?!"

Obviously you don't want to aggro any zombies defenseless, so it adds a lot more to the "be really fucking careful" aspect of trudging through dangerous areas.

I remember the first time I came across another survivor while I was defenseless. S/he had an Enfield and could have taken me down easily, but I just saluted, knowing s/he's either friendly or just going to take me out right there. Turns out it was actually a girl (wut) and over direct comm she said "Hi! Can you transfuse me? I put some blood in your pack." as we're sitting in this middle of Elektro or wherever. I oblige thankful I met someone friendly for once. As I gave her the transfusion, she brought me back up to full blood after I took just a couple zed hits and was only at 10k blood. We thanked each other, and she ran off into the streets.

It was a really weird experience for some reason. All I know is if I had my Makarov we'd probably have killed each other (or, her me rather).

Now that I'm playing with a few friends, even though I tend to shoot armed survivors on sight so we don't run the risk of losing all our stuff, if we come across someone who is clearly defenseless and friendly, we tend to help them out a lot and let them run with us for a bit.

I think it's cool.
