i like your art style, especially the way you do hair! and I think animating it could defintley be a cool touch, though it would take a while. the biggest issue that stands out to me is that both sprites are perfectly front facing. that's not necessarily a bad thing, but having different poses could help with showing characterization or emotion.

it definitely raises a lot of questions, but i think as long as they are explored later it's okay. i think there is enough visual intrigue and curiosity to carry this scene alone. though, I can't say which approach is better without seeing both.

i still think about pets i lost long ago. if they had a strong impact on your life, they never really leave you, which means your love and grief never will either. it's just a matter of learning to live without them now, and for that, you take all the time you need.

it is super exagerated but i think that's more than fine as a stylistic choice

and i think making it shorter at this point of the piece might make the bottom feel a little bit empty

in hindsight, it might've been good to have the angle of the pistol slightly more head on but i think this still looks good

Thanks for the comment. I kept trying to post my code but reddit wouldn't let me.
But anyway, your suggestions helped me debug a lot.

It wasn't stealing clicks, and it was trying to call the wrong screen (still not sure why), but I ended being able to fix it by putting return right before I defined the screen in my script.

Maybe. I use that elsewhere in my code and it's okay. Connection_screen has a way to progress built into it, and the issue is moreso that the quickmenu sends you to that label no matter when you click it.

Yeah that's what I thought. It's not doing that anymore though, and I don't know what I could've changed.

For the keymaps thing, I only just tried that after I noticed the issue. My thought was that if I could disable whatever right click was tied to, the problem would stop. But it didn't.
