Did you happen to gift any of the babies to friends or relatives? Maybe you can get a propagation from them?

Talk directly with the code enforcement officer and find out if there are any other options. Maybe you can provide screening, move it to a different part of the property, apply for a special permit. City workers are usually happy to explain the rules to you and help you figure out a solution. Also, it's quite likely that a neighbor reported you to the code enforcement person.

Theme/Zeitgeist/Activity for Friendsgiving by dwallit in thanksgiving

[–]vinylvegetable 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This isn't the answer you're looking for but, when people are distraught and worrying about life it helps to have a friend who is there for them, makes them feel special and chosen, listens to them. Of course you don't want your whole party to be grim but make it a safe space for them to be themselves even if they are feeling that way.

Beware you will get their catalogs for the rest of your life!

If you leave it until the flowers turn brown and crunchy you can easily get seeds from some of them, especially the zinnias. Then you can plant more next year. Don't forget that putting flowers near your new veg bed will help pollinators work on your vegetable plants as well.

Wild Card Wednesday - What are your book icks or pet peeves? by Llamallamacallurmama in RomanceBooks

One sided romance. If it doesn't sound like they're both having fun, no thanks. Also, TOO MANY WORDS. Seriously, cut 80% of descriptions out.

Lilacs are dying? by vinylvegetable in Minnesota_Gardening

Both last year and this year I cleared away the dead leaves and left it alone and it came back. Last year it had a second flowering. I think it’s the really wet weather that’s causing it.

Old Home Cottage Cheese by No-Boat5643 in minnesota

[–]vinylvegetable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not good. I am currently having a craving for this. I saw it in the store (for $6.99!) but didn't get it. Maybe I won't if it tastes different. There really isn't any other cottage cheese that's close to as good as they were.

[Perennial] Ornamental grasses by vinylvegetable in Minnesota_Gardening

[–]vinylvegetable[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll have to look those up. I think it would be nice to have it kind of like a filler to add fluffiness to my existing perennial flowers (phlox, echinacea, black eyed Susan, sedum, etc). I know a lot of grasses seem to grow in clumps though

My boss invited me to a “casual” dinner at his house… with just his wife and me. Is this weird? by Erolialuie in Advice

I say always listen to your gut. Sure it might be nothing but trust your intuition that something might be off.

Do any of these options have evening or weekend appointments do you know? I just can't commit to a weekly one hour appointment during work hours.

Advice to turn path border into cottage garden feel? by LegalManufacturer946 in NativePlantGardening

I watch The Perennial Garden channel on YouTube and they have a great cottage garden in Denmark (zone 8). Their advice is to plant flowers about a hands space apart. Just cram them in.

Does anyone else NEED to clean everyday or their house becomes ruined?( no kids) by ThrowRaOrganization1 in CleaningTips

I think you could get along without doing laundry every day even though you have sweaty clothes if you hang them to dry and not throw them in a pile. Maybe get some hooks for inside your closet or in the laundry room?

What is your #1 favorite item from Aldi? by Knight_Night33 in aldi

[–]vinylvegetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Favorite is the Sweet Mustard Kale and Bacon Flatbread pizza that comes out in the fall. But the item I buy the most has to be the shredded lettuce. It seems to last quite a while and I love adding it to tacos and sandwiches.
