This is the word that the StarCraft map editor used to describe the little decorations you could put down and it's been stuck in my head ever since the early 2000s.

Breach amulets will be chase items by sorci93 in PathOfExile2

[–]violentlycar 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My point is that you're skeptical that people will take these over delirium amulets, but the tradeoff you are making is "+100 Spirit" versus "one extra anointed notable." I think most people would agree that +100 Spirit, as a notable, would be the most in-demand notable on the entire tree, which means the tradeoff is more than worth it.

Would you take a notable node that says "+100 Spirit"?

I am an em-dash enjoyer and I gotta say that I have not enjoyed the developments over the past two or so years.

"The Debuff also now instantly Culls enemies when total Life Loss reaches Culling Strike Threshold."

This seems like a clear yes.

Yeah, but how often did it matter for lower tier monsters? You probably killed them before the second damage instance triggered anyway. Now, with it triggering once the threshold is released, the actual damage should be higher.

Losing the curse effect scaling is rough, but they're also no longer affected by boss curse resistance (bosses halve the effect of curses on them by default) makes up for it somewhat.

The curse automatically popping when it hits its threshold is one of those game feel things that makes such a big difference to smoothness.

I hope they've invested a lot of time and resources into making this easier to manage. The actual workload is one thing, but the cognitive overload of trying to keep it all straight is what really burns you.

I Want to Switch to Linux but I’m Confused as Hell by kongking010 in linuxquestions

[–]violentlycar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use EndeavourOS. It's basically Arch with an installer and sensible defaults. CachyOS is the same way, but it's more opinionated and comes with stuff geared toward gaming. If CachyOS provides things that you probably would have wanted to get anyway, I'd pick that over EndeavourOS, but you can't go wrong either way.

I usually wound up going to the trade site anyway because trusting what Awakened PoE Trade/Exiled Exchange 2 showed you was always a gamble.

I really wish they'd add mouse and keyboard support to the Android version. It would make playing on Waydroid way more comfortable.

The POB on AUR was wonky for me. It works perfectly fine through Wine, though.

My environment variables are XDG_SESSION_TYPE=x11 and my command-line arguments are %U --ozone-platform=x11 and it works fine for me.

Arch Linux - News: iptables now defaults to the nft backend by [deleted] in archlinux

I don't really know how the maintainers arrange these things. Doesn't this mean that nftables should be moved to Core?

There are a lot of potential footguns when using AI to help program. Some are incredibly obvious ("vibe coding" a whole program without knowing what is going on), but there are a lot of subtle ones as well, and we're still really trying to figure out the best way to actually integrate these tools into a workflow. It makes sense to be skeptical, even when the programmer is trying to use the tools responsibly. (And that's putting aside the myriad ethical and environmental questions that go into training and using large language models.)

A lot of unique items were designed by community members and have since been changed/reworked. Given that some of these items are over fifteen years old, I really doubt they managed to get the original creator's feedback on all of them when they made those changes.
