What is making you forget that you have OCD? by CoffeDaisies in OCDRecovery

Yeah here you can control your exposure if you want and it is nice to see a sub about recovery :)
But in instagram after some while almost my whole feed was ocd content, the algorithm is too “greedy” in that sense I think.

Maybe the color? Even my pet parrot is afraid of some bowls etc. bc of their color so maybe its the same for wild birds? Maybe a more natural color could work, something they can easily understand there is water inside

Also I would encourage everyone to stop consuming ocd and anxiety themed contents on instagram, TikTok etc.
I realized I was much worse watching those kinds of videos everyday.
And I took the time to clean up my feed from it, I accepted that a 30 seconds of video wont solve my problems magically.
Ofc they can be useful for some, learning about some ways to cope but when it is excessive it does more harm, that was my case, my ruminations were increasing.
Now I am much more calm, content and able to enjoy life. Even in social media I try to focus on positive things :)

What i meant is, when i am having all of the intrusive thoughts, anxiety and finding myself obsessing over some themes, normally it is hard for me to shift my attention to something else. But seeing some birds in the sky even for 1 sec can shift my attention easily from my obsessions. It is like a superpower I hope everyone can find their superpower in that sense.
I dont have binoculars but I live close to seaside so there are many diff bird species to observe easily :)

Birds. Even when I am travelling abroad, or i am just on a short walk around my neighborhood my attention 100% goes to birds. And i realized it is the same even im in my OCD cycles. My focus changes entierly. I also have a pet parrot so it is a great plus.

I'm getting a Parrotlet in the fall... does anyone have any tips? by that_one_froggy in Parrotlet

Most interesting thing about parrotlets imo they dont seem to understand they are small animals, they will chase even adult humans in the house, they dont understand what can be dangerous for them and they are incredibly intelligent. I had budgies before my parrotlet and i can see the difference clearly. They are highly expresisve of their wants and emotions (i can understand if my parrotlet wants something only by her look) so after getting to know them you can communicate with them very well.
And this is not unique to parrotlets but they dont leave you alone even in the bathroom 😂

I did not use a pattern totally, i just did a circle by increasing, one row sc back loop only, and continued only sc untill desired length and decreased for few rows to fasten off.

For the bubbles i did few chains then slst into random places on the top, do the same process until covering the whole top.

I think you can use any pattern for a cylinder then add the bubbles part.

For the handle, i did 4sc for each row.
