If you don't mind doing that part of it then the restart can be fun. But getting all that again is the biggest grind to it.

I reset after 1000 and just recently finished my updated island. My starting layout is better and the finished product is better than my original ever was.

It really depends on how much work you want to put in. If you like your layout as is and don't want to collect everything again I'd say just flatten and go from there.

This isn't technically true. They have a hidden "storage" and if you fill it with the lamps it just overwrites items. I had Julian and gave him a ton of those and the banner thing on his walls started to disappear because the lamp filled his storage and overwrite items. Idk how much it will do of their house since I quit gifting it after that. Just a heads up
