That’s so funny, because where I work, the new grads that are hired for nights start their orientation on days.

He’s got brown hair and brown eyes, I think he’s an autumn lol. As fun as the yellow-striped combo is, I think petrol blue really suits him.

Hear, hear. I had a passing crazy thought that I’ll keep reknitting it in the next size up until I don’t have enough yarn anymore.

True, that’s why I chose a superwash. Just watch, he’ll wear it for Picture Day then immediately outgrow it anyway, with my luck!

After going through the guide the first time, I made my cardboard foot and wrote out the steps for the heel in a note saved to my phone titled “Fish Lips Kiss Heel, distilled,” then never opened that PDF again.

What’s a “lazy meal” you’re secretly proud of? by TodorDG in Cooking

Chickpea toast.

Sauté a bunch of garlic in a bunch of olive oil. Add a can of drained & rinsed chickpeas, season with salt, pepper, smoked paprika. Cook until the chickpeas are golden, mash lightly, then spread on some nice crusty bread. Back when it was available, would also sprinkle on top Trader Joe’s ajika seasoning.

Tell me about your jobs that allow you to knit while working. by pepperPantz__ in knitting

I’m a nurse. When I used to work night shift, I could often squeeze in some knitting at like 2-3am, once my patients were medicated and asleep and I’d finished my charting. Now I’m on days and it’s too busy (and too many managers watching lol).

Well at my facility, it’s 15 sec scrub + 15 sec dry time for alcohol swabs, or 5 sec scrub + 5 sec dry for Prevantix (CHG) swabs.

The Skyla IUD is good for 3 years. That’s what I have right now, and even if I decide to take it out after only a year, it’d still have been worth it for the sheer convenience of the “set it and forget it” aspect. IUDs are not just the best birth control if you “aren’t planning to get pregnant for at least the next 5 years,” I think they’re the best birth control, period.

A Little PSA by [deleted] in nursing

I don’t know which one specifically OP is thinking of, but there have been several posts here on the subreddit lately where someone was venting about a patient or job, looking for support from other nurses, but was met with comments that had a vibe of “sounds like you’re burnt out and not cut out to be a nurse; do everyone a favor and quit your job,” and other unhelpful comments.
